BangShift - The Ugly American Here's a piece from BangShift showing the last bit of updates to the car. I picked it up this weekend and have it home now. Couple minor things to fiddle with and then I will be taking it to the track for testing. I didn't pick the name, but I do like it.

It was done, they said it wasn't that bad to do, that's all I got. Fender lips where rolled as well and now there is plenty of room for a 295/40/18 and could probably fit a 305/315. Could go even larger if I just did 1/2" offset hangers from Dr. Diff to move the springs a bit. You can see...

It's alive... Dart Test Firing Very happy with the exhaust sound. It's using single chamber Magnaflows and will have a dump before the axle. Racepak dash is super cool and I'll probably not know how to use half of what it has. You can see on the switch panel it flips between 2 different...

Cage isn't exactly heavy either. Probably 250lbs of cage and bracing. That would be 125 ft of 1.75 x .120, which I don't think there is that much and some is .095. There has been a lot of weight removed as well, plus I could do more fiberglass if needed, power windows, lexan, etc...

Best Coilover IFS for '71 duster?

Agree 100%, my Gen III swap and header fitment would have been much easier without t bars. I'd just like to see a competitive Mopar coil over car show up at a PT event so I can see how they compare. The closest car to date would have to be the purple Challenger that is in Hot Rod this month...

Best Coilover IFS for '71 duster?

Please supply this list of "fast" Mopars that are currently running on the track. I'd like to make sure to take a look at them when they show up. Somehow I must be missing them when I'm there, or reviewing the results after the events.

Wheels are on and the car is on it's suspension at the moment... I went cheap on the wheels to start with since I'm not sure where this will end up for tire size. They will always make good rain wheels. Got them from American Muscle. They are 18x10 at 24mm and weigh 20.9 lbs for $210 each...

I'd have to quiz the wiring guy with the plug questions. I can tell you that they weren't $100 each, but other than that, I've got nothin'. I talked to Hotwire at SEMA about my harness and how it was bulkheaded. They will do it and have thought of doing it as an option. Just have to ask for...

    Hotchkis 76 Dart Build

Long story... but essentially when you are not doing it yourself, sometimes it's cheaper to just buy one than to make pieces work. That Unisteer kit was on sale at Summit for $1k, so I gave it a shot. The packaging and space trying to put the quickener under the dash didn't help. I still...

Haven't looked, but it should be the standard LA bell with the Gen 3 flywheel. The Hotwire harness comes with a grommet. Really all you have to do is drill the appropriate size hole and feed the connector through. I had them section the harness to make it easier to swap engines and as a...

Works with existing caliper (not much drifting planned) and works as a parking brake as well. That little silver lever that hangs below the handle sits in those slots to wedge it up as a parking brake.

True, but close enough... If I need the weight savings I will move to some fiberglass, but for the time I am happy with the hood and trunk weight. I would prefer to stick with the steel bumpers just to offer some crash protection. For Pro-Touring events I might switch them out to save some...

I started with a nice car because so much of the original car will be retained. The car is all steel and will continue to be all steel for the foreseeable future. All the trim is going back on the car, including the turn signals on the fenders. To me, starting with a goofy year slant 6 car...

Not sure on how much, but the controller allows you to dial in the amount of adjustment. Since it's designed for a soccer mom SUV, you probably will want less than originally intended anyway. I don't think you would have the room on the engine side in an A Body. It would depend on how it...

To head off some alternator comments... 1) Yes, you could use a stock 6.4 alternator and chop into the frame rail. 2) I didn't want to have to buy an almost $400 alternator (stock 6.4) 3) I don't need an alternator that kicks out 220 amps (stock 6.4) 4) The 5.7 alternator for VVT...
