Would a lockup be more favorable in terms of economy?

How can you tell the difference? It's funny because though I have been in the car game for a long time this is one aspect of the hobby I have missed. Would my 74 Dodge Dart have a lockup trans?

Guys I am totally obsessed with an overdrive unit in my Dart. So much so I might shoot for teaching, I'm a high school teacher, summer school just for an overdrive option. For instance just right now on the highway all I could think about was "lower rpm's...lower rpm's..lower rpm's..".

I agree with you Joe. In fact I believe you've been around long enough to remember those days. It would have been awesome if there was even some kind of internal mod that could turn out 727/904's into overdrive units. However I know that's not possible.

My issue is when I really lean on it my trans quickly goes to first, second, then third and bogs. This did not happen when I had the T-Quad on so I know it's something I screwed up. Man I hate it when I goof things up.

I had no issues since I already had a T-Quad on before this swap.
