aside from pulling the trans, how hard is it to replace the front trans seal? don't you need to pull the 10 or so bolts inside the bell housing? or is the seal in the front?

I can understand if i need a spacer for the early torque converter like my slant six, but I'm dealing with .003" I need to grind off. no adapter would work in that situation, but can I do what mrmopartech suggested? or I know I guy with a '67 conveter, will that work?

I can do that?????? I thought I couldn't do that because there is important stuff in the front, I don't have an original, but I can find tolarences from my slant six

that makes sense, it's a crank out of a '65, does that mean I need a converter out of a '65? and do all '65 torque converters have the same spline pattern on the transmission input shaft?

I've had it! I picked up 3 transmissions this weekend, all good, except one has a broken torque converter. all are 318-904 trans with the same spline pattern, but I'm having a bugger getting the front of the converter to seat inside the end of the crank. what to do. it only doesn't clear by like...

thats the kinda answer I was looking for, and to tell you the truth, I know non of those specs. most everything is getting replaced or changed later on, so it would all change. my engine is stock for the moment, along with everything else, and I'll change it out later, so I'll go for the stock...

I've got a 318 with a 904 trans that didn't come with a torque converter. a guy at my shop who orders all the stuff talked to a transmission guy who gets all that stuff and delivers it to the shop. he's having a bit of dificulty finding one. he thinks it'd be easier to buy an after market...

I could. I'd rather get cheaper mounts. it's way easier. I've already pulled one k-frame. and fucked **** up in the process.

I think I'll buy a new converter. both are 904s, the slant has a 20 some spline count while the sb trans has 30 some. also I need those shumacer mounts to mount to the slant k-member. it's a 67 dart and a LA 318. any way I can get by the $150. if I had dimentions, I'd be tempted to make the damn...

alright cool, but my sb trans has a different pilot spline count than my six trans, hence the no fit. so can I swap the pilot splines easily, or get a different converter?
