What in the World is a 454 Hemi?

I don't know about a 454 Hemi, I looked at a '66 charger one time the guy claimed had a 440 Hemi in it. weird but it just looked like a run of the mill 440 wedge head.

What older Dodge pickup truck would you get if you could choose?

I just picked up a 90 D150 shortbed for my oldest boy. It's got to be from out west or down south, don't see too many here in NE Ohio with burnt paint and clean frames. 318 TBI, auto nice truck, just needs some this and thats. If he dosn't get his act together I just may sell my 99 Dak R/T and...

    Anybody ever seen these before?

Seen them on the older motor homes, so you didn't have to get under the dog house to add some oil. And on my Uncle's mid 70's New Yorker, I'm guessing it shortened your stretch over the massive fenders to add oil if needed.

    Desoto Hemi WIW??

What size? 277? 291? Early fifties or 1956 to 58? The older smaller displacement ones are climbing in value and there are a few places that have rebuild kits besides HOTHEADS. Just remember that parts from a Dodge hemi, Plymouth hemi, DeSoto Hemi and Chrysler hemi will NOT interchange, they were...

    Where's Galen?

I thought his wife had health problems? I think I read that in MoPar Collector's guide? It may have put a dent in his time he gave to the business.

How did you become addicted to MoPar?

It's in my blood. My Dad always had MoPars around. When I was a kid my Mom had a 67 Barracuda fastback for a grocery getter. Dad had a series of MoPars over the years, the last one he had that he was able to drive he sold in 1991, it was a 64 Dodge Polara - push button trans, 383 4bbl car solid...

    The ones that got away!!!

When I was 15, way back in 1985, I begged my Dad to go on a June, saturday morning to go to a local lot that had a 70 Coronet advertised in the $500 specials. After 2 cups of coffee and about a half a pack of smokes, he gave in and we left for the lot. We arrived and I went apeshit over a 1970...

Anyone know much about 50's dodge cars?

I can't say for sure, you'd have to measure the existing and the 81/4. Of course if it's too narrow you can always mini-tub it. I have heard of guys using fornt ends of of Volare's & Aspens on the 51-56 MoPars. Check out www.dodgecoronet.com - the dodge coronet registry there are some articles...

Anyone know much about 50's dodge cars?

Not to sound stoopid, but what's an FMJ k member? and why would you want to change it out? You can fit a small block or a big block into the existing one with probably less fabbing than putting in a new K-frame,A-arms, etc, they are quite spacious. AAJ Brakes makes disc conversion kits for those...

What ever happn'd to rod and custom machine small block hemi's?

Last time I saw them was at the Nats in Columbus about two years ago. I think their problem was cost - cost to manufacture and cost to install, crate motors HP and prices probably killed them. For what you would spend on the conversion, you could get a killer crate engine with half the install...

    Rat Style Muscle Cars

I don't know if this is considered a "Rat style muscle car", but she is ratty, and I drive the nuts off of it whenever I can. 350 miles on it since June. I just did a re-shoot of the paint, not any "Hot Rod" paint, just plain old Rustoleum flat black. Original 1955 Dodge Coronet -270 cid Poly...

anyone welded up spider gears before??

Waste of time, that thing will snap. Welding hardened materials makes them brittle and they usually will break upon use. Why not just do one wheel tire fryers until it breaks?

Back to basics...A couple questions on my New A body!

I'm not sure about the Dart Lite, but I think the Feather Dusters had aluminum trunk lids and some other accessories. But don't quote me. I had a '75 Dart Sport /6 auto with drums all around, manual.

    Sure grip

Good luck finding rings & pinions for it, they are almost non-existent. I've got a 741 SureGrip with 3.91's...I called just about every gear vendor out there and no one has anything for the 741, steeper gears, nothing.
