    Your first mopar...?

1970 Coronet 4 door, FE5 with black interior that I bought in 1983 at age 11. Paid a whopping 20 dollars for it with no transmission and the 318 laying in the trunk. Plan was to get it together for when I turned 16. Discovered that it had frame rot issues and decided to part it out rather than...

Don't need all that much voltage. Just enough to get the villan's attention. Maybe knock him back a bit. LMAO

Still thinking hidden wire and voltage. Touch the car without unhooking the hidden wire, and ZAP!

Small hidden wire hooked up to an electric fence power box.

    FC7 70 Swinger production numbers??

Even a percentage based guesstimate would be good. Not going to change the build outcome, just a curiosity.

    FC7 70 Swinger production numbers??

Haven't been on here in a long while. Been busy with life. Anyway, recently picked up a 70 Swinger, factory purple. Slant six, non matching numbers. Probably going to be a healthy small block fun driver. Was just wondering if anyone has any idea how many purple 70 Swingers were built? Thanks in...

How about a 71 Swinger, was slant six. Been a drag car since 76. No dash or VIN tag. Bought it from a friend who lost his battle with brain cancer two years later. He always loved 68 Darts, as do I. So, here's the plan: Dash and tag from a 73 4 door I own, 68 front sheetmetal, rear body section...

    Rhino liner vynil top

I know for sure that SOMEBODY made at least one vinyl top for a wagon. Years back, early 90s? there was a 71 Satellite wagon in a salvage yard, gold with black vinyl roof. I couldn't believe it, never saw a wagon with a vinyl top before or since. Had to walk over and check it out. Somebody had...

What direction should my next project take?

I vote for the 55. Leave the patina, do it up gasser style, and use a bit of flattener in any lettering paint you may use. Make it look like a barn find gasser.

RustyRatRod's Guide To Hot Rod Bliss

Also, you don't need those big dollar aluminum roller rockers unless it's a race engine spinning a zillion RPM. In 30 years of beating the snot out of Mopars, I have had ONE stock rocker fail. A friend is on his third set of rollers...........

how many people have 10 cars or more in one ???

I could write a book or two on this topic. One old turd that comes to mind is a 75 Duster build I did in the early 90s. 75 Duster shell (free) driver quarter section from a 76 Feather Duster I parted out passenger quarter from a wrecked 73 ($40 at local yard) driver door from a 73 I parted...

Best way to clean up a mess?

This. Mineral spirits, Goo Gone, Oops, WD40, or lighter fluid are all solvents that you might try, and all of these should work with no significant impact on the paint. If these won't do it, you could try carb cleaner, brake cleaner, lacquer thinner, or gasoline, but some of these could wreck...

I wonder why my 340 had an awful miss.......

Saw this on a 93 Caravan 3.3 with "only" 247,000 miles. Guy sold it to me for $125 cause the "motor is blown up". Of course it had to be the rear head, so the plenum had to come off. Threw rockers/shaft and 2 pushrods in from a donor engine I had, and whammed her back together with the old...

    Interesting Dodge Van..

Lovin everything about that van except the Cordoba grille ordeal. Personally I like the 76-78 van grilles. Wish the wild paint trend would make a comeback, along with Cragars and sidepipes.

    Craigs list dreamer

Somehow the paint reminds me of the car Skank rolled in the movie The Wraith. He snorted WD40. I think I'm seeing a connection here.

My 75 Swinger will probably get a 71 front end and a 70 rear bumper and splash pan. And 70/71 markers. Not sure yet if I will swap doors, but probably. The 71 that I have will probably be cloned into a 67-69 hybrid, using 68 fenders and grille, painted 67 front bumper, painted 67 rear bumper...

    when did catalytic converters start?

Has happened here too. Was on the news a year ago or so where somebody hit a dealership and cut the cats off of most of the cars on the lot. Also around the same time some jackass electrocuted himself stealing copper wire. Problem was it was live.

    when did catalytic converters start?

Local yard gives $40 a piece. That is a ripoff!!! I know a guy who specializes in these. I sold him 8 and got $565. For him the price depends on what type they are and what they are off of. He tells me some of the imports can bring $180 each.

    Struggling with my project

Any small body shops in your area? You might stop in and talk to the owner, and explain that you want to learn to do this yourself and can't afford to pay somebody else to do it. Talk with him and see if he would be willing to show you the techniques in exchange for general labor like floor...

    when did catalytic converters start?

I have also seen 74 A bodies with the "lump" in the floor. Near as I know 75 was the first year they used the cataclysmic converter, I just always figured maybe the Califernya air Nazis may have mandated them in 74 or something. Don't know.
