    350 to 360-doable?

So...did this ever get done? :D Might be worth using an adapter plate and the (much smaller) TH700 rather than the 46RH. Actually...might the 700 have a removeable bell? If so, I think someone (SST...maybe...?) makes a Mopar bell for it. (Though that might only be the 4L60E.)

    Getting a lost title

Year varies by state (some 2001, some 1980, some 20 years), but correct: other than Massachusetts, New England states do not title old cars. (Nor do many other states.)

    Getting a lost title

I honestly don't know how that is even POSSIBLE. Heck-I have no way to "prove" I was a resident of several places I have lived. Yes. MANY states simply DO NOT TITLE old cars-VT, ME, NH, RI, CT, GA, AL, and PA come to mind. (It's even more common with bikes.) At a guess, he didn't have a...

    First non mopar purchase

Why wouldn't they? 99% of them have Chevy running gear and most have no Ford parts.

    The EFI myth

Their 550hp is from about 380ci. The Barton motor has a big cam, single-plane intake, and very poor vacuum signal, so it always ran somewhat rich at cruise. (Otherwise, it would lean out.)

    The EFI myth

One is a mild 5.9 Magnum in a 62 Savoy. The other is a rip-roaring ~500hp Ray Barton motor in a road-race Valiant.

    The EFI myth

What are you running now? Because this seems like exactly the thing a ThermoQuad was designed to prevent. Also: what altitude are you at? High altitude makes all that worse. I have had good luck on carbs (motorcycles) using StarTron and StaBil for ethanol. Something is very wrong, because...

    The EFI myth

FWIW, a guy who has been wrenching and tuning Mopars for almost sixty years, and actually pioneered several now-common upgrades, called swapping from a carb to MPI "the single best thing he ever did" on a car.

    The EFI myth

Possible fix: carb spacer. Either plastic or wood. If no room for that, the thickest foam or cork gasket you can find. And a heat shield. And if you're not running one, consider a ThermoQuad. Do you use Sta-Bil? I have found draining is probably a bad idea. The contrary-FILL the tank with...

Anyone ever seen a...Valiant Super Bee?

Yes, and still has the km/h speedometer. I recall they also sold a Volare-based "Super Bee" south of the border. This one seems to essentially be a Duster 360. Not sure it's worth $18K, but kind of cool.

Anyone ever seen a...Valiant Super Bee?

Saw this on eBay (I need to stay off eBay), and had never heard of it before: 1976 Plymouth Valiant 5.9 superbee | eBay .

Are you swapping big inch to little inch?

There's no real compromise with a TQ. It might be the best street carb ever made. And most of them flow more than your AVS.

Yeah....having a great platform to start with , but i dont know what i want !!

I would do this. But with aluminum heads and air conditioning.

Are you swapping big inch to little inch?

Sounds like you could use a well-tuned ThermoQuad and maybe a gear swap...

Are you swapping big inch to little inch?

I might actually do that. Good heads, probably a dual plane (Performer RPM or M1) intake, mild roller cam, TQ carb...2.94 or 2.76 gears and OD. Might top 25mpg highway in a Duster. Friend did it...has a 408 stroker with I think the old MP aluminum Magnum heads, in an Aspen wagon with a low gear...

This. A couple pads in each door and a layer under the carpet makes a big difference. So does eliminating exhaust drone.
