Yes new tires mean no burnouts for me. But when it's getting close to needing new tires. Then burn away. I love a good fun burnout. I just do it for myself not to impress anyone.
It's always like Christmas when parts arrive. Plus it's easier to buy then sell. I can't believe I have brand new fenders for my 64 Dart!!! This is 2019? I'm a long way to go to getting the Dart on the road, but every part brings me one step closer.
Is the person I saw yesterday in Mendon, MA on here? 1967 GTS 383 Yellow with black. Wish I wasn't driving and got a picture or could see it up close. You just never know what you'll see driving around.
The first couple of days, are the cheaper driver cars. If built right you can pick a nice driver for less money then the price to build it. The big dollar cars don't pass the block till Saturday and Sunday.
Had a customer with a /6 dart. Motor was seized. we took a breaker bar and big pipe to free up motor. Put fresh oil in it and it fired right up. Made some noise but then quieted down. He drove the Dart for another year.
My first car 70 Charger 383 started to make some slight noises going home...
In case you don't have it part# P4452974 for the 2.96" crankshaft.
Maybe a google search will find one. like here-http://www.moparpartsgiant.com/parts/mopar-crank-2-96-stroke-a-eng~p4452974.html
LMAO!
I've jumped ship on a lot of projects. Looking back I should have stuck with them. That's why I'm sticking with my Dart. It's gonna take my years to complete but it will be worth it in the long run.
That would be fun.
Especially if they met up a 150 miles from the track, stop and got gas at a gas station. Then drove to the track to race. And maybe stop at a road course too.
Well isn't this true back in the day? Couldn't someone just throw money at a dealership and buy a new muscle car? Then throw money at a bunch of aftermarket parts to make it go faster?
I'm sure the guys who built their 30s-50s hotrods were saying the same thing.
Yes I'm more old school but am always impressed with what is being made these days. With varying valve timing, turbos, superchargerso and 8 speed transmission. They definitely have come along way.
