    Building a 360

    Hey I haven't had any luck building a motor unless I had been drinking. The last one I did was in my duster. The one night I didn't have a drink I put the bottom end together and had to pull it apart 3 days after I started driving it. Maybe just me though.

    A Body Stalling at Idle

    Grab a can of carb. cleaner and use the straw so that it is a fine stream and start spraying any where on the motor that can possibly have an intake leak. If the engine changes there is a leak. Typically if there is a vaccum leak the idle would be higher in park with no load and alot of the time...

    273 adjustable rockers on a 360

    I did exactly what you are wanting to do. I did have one dang rocker that I always had to adjust because of the adjusting screw being old and tired. I would put a new set of adjusting screws in. I used a set of cut to length push rods from comp cams in mine.

    dist. doesn't fit

    I have changed alot of dist. and had oring problems. Just get a new oring that is a thinner and put it in. Problem should be resolved.

    I think its a crap shoot. I have an air port right down the street that is about as far away as the gas station. Hmmmmmm. 100LL avgas. I can live with that. Expensive but works.

    I would probably go to the 2.02/1.60 valves in the heads. As far as the converter I have ruffled some feathers but with almost the same set up you have I used a stock /6 converter and it worked great. I would also look more at either the 3310-3 or earlier Holley carb or possibly the 670 street...

    360 J head Valves

    That is what I had in my X head on the drivers side and the J head on the passenger side of my duster. Yes you read that right. They ran great too!

    hell I ran a 450 vac sec. on my 60 over 360 and it ran like a raped ape. Would have been better if I had had a 600 on it but still great. 13.94 @ 104 in 1/4.
