Thanks everyone for the input. I bought a new stud to mount the cable to the carb and moved it to a lower hole on the arm. Dunno if I'm getting 100% open throttle but it's close enough for me!

When I do that it opens carb up

When I push the peddle to the floor the carb isn't fully opening. I have the stock cable and stock mounting bracket and a quickfuel carb. Is there any way to adjust the cable or is there a different way of mounting it to the carb itself?

I have a msd 6al box an pro billet distributer. Your saying you don't just hook the violet and orange from the box to the violet and orange wires coming from the distributer? Maybe possible I have mine run backwards to.

I just used what I had. I've already thrown a ton of money into this project. I've been reading here on the forums that the shafts have a orientation that they need to be in so I'm sure that's one of the problems. I'm going to replace the rocker arms with a set I found that are made for that...

Make sure to use a bolt with a small head on it. I put a Allen head bolt in that hole and as I was tightening the water pump down it hit the head of the Allen bolt and put a small crack in the back of the water pump. Needless to say I was pretty mad and it took about 2 hours for me to realize...
