    71 360?

should drop right in as long as you have a v8 k frame and the correct mounts for a 340-360 or a set of shumaker mounts to convert to a /6 k frame ,but as far as space I have a 71 360 in my 73 duster.

    Installing a V8 in a JEEP!

The wrangler I had ran 31 inch tires with 4.10 gears .After the engine swap I could run on the highway at 75 on less than half throttle , the 4 banger couldn't get out of its own way going down hill. If fuel injection is a must you could go with the Edelbrock or Holley throttle body kits. With...

    Installing a V8 in a JEEP!

fuel injection is the big sticking point because I put a 318 auto in a wrangler in place of a 4 banger. If he could get a carb setup for the engine, he could just get an electronic ignition conversion kit and install that. As far as mounts go your will have to fab up your own because the only...

    360 build need help

Depending on your tools you can do a basic port and polish and gasket match on your own . That is what I did with no experience, so I just took my time and watch what you are doing with the summit port and polish kit with a standard die grinder.

Good mileage 360 on a budget

It all depends on the rear end ratio, because I have a mild 360 in my duster and before I switched my gears from the stock 2.76 /6 gears to the 3.21 sure grip I was getting 17.5 mpg inmy car. The mild 360 is a stock lower end truck 360 with small 1.88 valves and a home done port job and gasket...

Need Crash Course in SB 101

replicaracer is right because the 360 is the only la small block that was externally balanced while the 318,340,and 273 were all internally balanced .so unless you like crawling around on the ground in the salvage yard that will be your best bet . also if you just plan on using the engine you...

    Small block strength

According to the mopar small block book I have , if you cant afford the 340 siamese block like the TA, then your next best thing is an early(71-73) 360 block, because they were cast thicker. according to the book you can bore the early blocks out to 100 over without having to worry about them...

    rough idle with vac advance

i did a quick vacuum test and the gauge is reading a steady 20 inches of vacuum at 700 rpm idle, and 22 inches steady at about 2000 rpm. i tried a little test with starting fluid sprayed around the intake and carb base and i found a few spots on the intake that the engine reacted to and the back...
