Well I have tested the alternator as you said, with direct cable from battery to field where green cable was connect. With engine off it read the same as battery 12.78v. Started the engine in idle the reading on the big terminal was 14.4v with engine rev up it goes up above 15v, I think it was...

I did all the tests and that is result: When green field wire not connected, 12.9 at battery and 12 at black cable on regulator. With engine running 11.8 at alternator big connector. I suppose the alternator is not working. Alternator is a round one labelled as reworked (made in Mexico). Any advice

I found out what the switch is for, it is not a toggle switch it is resistor which turns and is replacing the blower switch. I have no idea why this has been done, but for now I am leaving it. Thanks for all your information.

it used to be AC car but it has been taken out, so AC.
