I run a lot of electric RC cars. All lithium batties and I keep them in a ammo box for a reason... And in my garage.

Don't cheap out IMO. It has burned me in the past and ended up costing more.

I wouldn't use a battery that drops power under 3.0v per cell. I use them in all of my rc cars. They are pretty tempermental. If one goes flat for too long you could have a dead cell. And there goes your battery, no recovery. Ill keep the heavier gel cell. Not worth it imo

Agreed. That is a big mess. And who is to say that those are factory colour wires. Best bet is to just use a good diagram.
