I run them pistons in my 318. I am running 360 heads milled .035 with 1.88/1.60 and love this combination, I do run high 12's with this combo. My compression is about 10.50.

I have 360 heads 1.88/1.60, ported and milled .035. My compression is around 10.50. But I can see it with a 318 not liking that cam, Its all trial and error.

I have run the 528 cam. In my 318 I ran mid 13's with it then went to a 488/510 hyd and went from a M1 single plane to edle air gap and ran high 12's. I did not like that cam. I am running a 3500 stall and a 4.10 gear.

I would run the air gap over the M1 and run a 650 holley and you will be happy. 318's RULE!

My dad has a crower .485/.495 and loves it! Tons of torque and some up top power. I am not impressed with the comp .488/.491.

I have a 318 with similar set up, I run 360 heads ported and milled .035. The cam I have is erson .488/.510 it works great! My gears are 4.10 and the tc is a turbo action 3500. I don't see the problem with the air gap or the carb. I run high 12's in my dart. Have fun.

I would guess with that much tq you should be in the mid to high 12's.
