building a FAST legal small block

Roller set-ups are a pain in those ,ask Kory. You would be suprised at the power and torque you can get from a good solid flat tappet. As long as you use the proper oil there should not be a problem loosing a cam.It would also be money well spent to go for a good piston. You know where I am if...

    How Accurate is Camquest?

It depends how good your heads are.We have a 10.5 comp 360 with UNPORTED EQ Magnum heads ,a good solid cam that is in the upper 230,s for duration,a Performer RPM intake and a HOLLEY 4412 2 BARREL carb that makes 452 for power and 445 for torque.Just because your heads are ported doesn't mean...

1.6 ratio rockers. Do they actually hurt the geometry??

Never sink the valve ,it hurts airflow. You should have went to a longer valve or a lash cap if you did not want to buy valves.

building a FAST legal small block

I would suggest some GOOD pistons with a light ring pack.Depending on the whole package,400+ cubes should put you well over 500 ft lbs of torque, that could be a hand full to hook up at low speeds. Then you need enough cylinder head to feed it at 6,000 rpm to make it worth while.Do you want to run...

building a FAST legal small block

I am assuming it will be a 360 based combo. With cams that small you would be better off with a good solid flat tappet. Why the pump gas ? You are giving up a substantial amount of power by limiting the compression.Stick or auto and what kind of RPM were you thinking ?What head did you have in mind ?
