i have a 1992 318 magnum straight out of a dakota sport... what size would the stock valves be? any good advice on getting some power out of that engine... I'm planning on putting it and the tranny in my 71dart.. as far as a build up of the engine, probably go with a mild cam near .480...

build a 318 up... use higher compression pistons... a cam good to about 6500 rpm, along with valve springs, hand work the heads, port,polish, gasket match them, a 3500 rpm torque converter, 4:56 gears and et-streets, and hope everything stays together..

reading all this gave me a headache :) i can tell you to get a 318 outrunning bigblocks and the such, your going to have more than $1500 in parts,then it'll need to be streetable, dont think it'll happen for the amount of money you wish to spend... the only way would be to spray or boost...
