Filling trim holes on fender extensions

Yeah I was wondering if there was something other than the bondo brand. I try to stay away from that stuff. Thanks for the suggestion. And I was thinking I should taper out the holes so you confirmed that for me.

Filling trim holes on fender extensions

It’s been a very long time since I’ve been on here but I’m back to working on my Dart. I need to fill the trim holes on my fender extensions. I believe they are some sort of fiberglass resin. What would be the proper way to fill these holes before painting?

    sheet metal/paint technique question

I have a similar situation and was told to try one of these: http://autobodystore.net/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=P267R&Category_Code=P2 It's supposed to work with regular primer so you don't need to use rattle cans.

    68`Valiant 2dr post Windsheild replacement

No worries Pauly, i knew the gasket was going to need replacing anyway. I was mostly worried about not screwing up the trim and glass. I got most of it off after fighting with it several times. I finally figured it out this morning and now the explanation given above makes perfect sense. I guess...

    68`Valiant 2dr post Windsheild replacement

For some reason i'm still having problems with this. If go between the glass and the rubber i'd have to cut through the rubber to get to the clips. I planned on replacing the gasket but that doesn't seem right. The clips are supposed to stay on the car and the molding pops off of the clips right?

    68`Valiant 2dr post Windsheild replacement

I picked up one of these today. Just to clarify, i put it between the molding and the rubber not the rubber and the glass right? And i need to pull up on the tool but not twist it? Just want to be sure i understand the procedure so i don't break any glass. Thanks for the help.

Need a suggestion on some Bodywork Tools

I ended up ordering the set from the link i posted above. I did decide to go with the HF stud Welder though. I tried it out yesterday and it worked fine but the slide hammer is junk as someone said. It won't grip the studs and just slips off, good thing i ordered the uni-puller. I got the...

Need a suggestion on some Bodywork Tools

Thanks, good to know. Are those basically the same as the 3M Roloc pads i've seen?

Where can i get these wheels at? Are these the same as the plastic stripping wheels that i've heard of?

Those look really nice but $500 for the set is a bit out of my price range.

Need a suggestion on some Bodywork Tools

Yeah i was worried about that since i have a 20gal 1.8hp Husky Compressor. It's rated at 4.3 scfm @ 90 psi. i figured it may not work for the D/A but i found one that runs on 4.0 scfm @ 90 psi at Harbor Freight. I used it today to remove the paint around the trim holes i leaded, works great so...

Need a suggestion on some Bodywork Tools

Need a suggestion on some Bodywork Tools

Thanks, i plan on maybe doing other cars in the future so i think it may be worth the investment for the better set. I have an angle grinder so i will look for a stripping wheel for it. Picked up a D/A today and tried my hand at filling some trim holes with lead (practiced on a door that i'm...

Need a suggestion on some Bodywork Tools

I've decided to start the bodywork on my Dart and need a suggestion on some tools to get started. Mostly what i will be doing is pulling dents, probably won't have to replace any panels from what i can tell. There is only minor surface rust so that shouldn't be a problem. I found a couple of...

    70 Dart Fender Question

Are the front fenders on a 4-door identical to the 2-door ones? My drivers' side on my 2-door 70 Swinger is beyond salvage and i found a 4-door with good fenders. I'm pretty sure they are the same but i wanted to check before i made the drive up to get it. Thanks.
