The groove seal does NOT work properly in a 73. I called Steele today and they claim they have the right non-grooved seal.

Ahh thank gawd someone else had the problems Im having. I thought I was nuts. Anyway Ill have to look at steeles weatherstrip, is there anyway you could post a pic ot two so I can see if its what I need?

Do they make the no groove seal for a 73? I dont think so. This is the problem the seal with the groove doesnt fit right.

If so post one for me , I wanna see if I like the look before i drill out my hood. Thanks

Can someone please post a pic of a newly installed door window seal installed on a 73 duster. I just bought a new set from softseal and they dont look like the one I took off. The one I took off is somewhat flat with no groove for the top of the window and the new one has a groove. Thanks

THat looks pretty cool. too bad someone hasnt hacked up an ol gold duster rollin parts car just for the goof. I would imagine strenthining the frame for ragtop application could be done easily. Anyone out there got a donor car?

I did the same thing with the upper piece of linkage but it threw off the entire lock set in the door, only about a 1/4 inch or less but the doors wont lock now. They close fine but just dont lock. Which I guess Ill live with cause I never take the car to the mall anyway

I just installed new exterior door handles on my 73 duster and they look great but now the doors dont lock. It has something to do with the connectiing rod shifting the lock mechanism in the door. Anyone else have a similar problem or solution. Thanks

I believe they started using metal emblem on dusters in 1973 one on each fender and one on rear panel. Ive had two 70s and they both had decals only. Except for the plymouth emblems.
