i did mine flat black to hold me over while i get bodywork done, but if it was going to be driven for very long and i didnt have bodywork to do and didnt plan on painting it, i would have done it in satin black for a slight sheen and cleaner look in my opinion.

im going to try the duplicolor paint system, its all pre mixed. a little more pricey than my original plan of just buying a gallon of acrylic enamel. just remember the preperation is the most important part of a quality paint job.

the 2 seam lines are just where the vinyl sections have been folded over and sewn together. as far as the foam, the vinyl itself has a soft backing which goes directly on the roof.

as stated already, basecoat alone wouldnt last at all. clearcoat will seal the basecoat , give it gloss and make it durable.

if the paint is shot, go to wal mart pick up a case of flat black spray paint and a scuff pad and a roll of masking tape. maybe a couple cans of another color for stripes.dont really know what your looking to do, but this may help.
