    18" wheels

I was thinking 17x7, probably 5" backspace. I think I'll need wildly different backspace I back, with the narrow axle.

    18" wheels

My concerns are cost (18s are pricey), and having room for sidewall on an A with the short tires.

    18" wheels

I know this is a very old post, but I'm planning on 17 or 18" wheels on my 73. (See avatar.) Would your sizing here work for 17" wheels, as well? Say...235/50 front? It seems like you're saying even an 8" wheel would clear in front without the tubular UCA swap...right?

    Police wheel Question?

Will have 2.71 next spring. My brain hurts.

    Donut spare

Definitely-XJ, YJ, and TJ Jeeps use the AMC/Mopar 4.5" bolt pattern. I've seen people running 15x7 Jeep wheels on Mopars.

    Police wheel Question?

    255 is fine-I was honestly thinking 225 or 235. (I know that 235/55R17 is a common tire size.) So...17x7 should work...probably 5" backspacing...right? (Which is...what offset? Crap, I'm confused.)

    Donut spare

Since I have seen Jeep steel wheels on old Mopars before, I don't expect a problem.

    Mounting an original Polyglas

The Coopers on my Duster are rock-hard, and they're from 2020 and 2021. :soapbox::soapbox:

    Police wheel Question?

What's the backspacing on the 18s? I want to swap my Duster from 14/15" Rallys to 17s, but am terrified of spending a pile of money and finding out that the wheels do not fit.

    Donut spare

Stock 73 brakes, though I'll probably go with 11.75" B-body rotors when I replace the fronts. I'm not worried about clearance-it's a 16" wheel. Just wondering if I missed something obvious here.

    Donut spare

Planning to make my Duster a daily driver...currently has a 14" wheel and a very old 185/75 tire. I'm considering grabbing a Jeep donut as a spare (T125/90D16, from base-model XJ Cherokees, about 25"). Anyone done this? I see absolutely no reason this will not work.

    Repairing a cracked wheel?

FWIW, a wheel repair place could fix it,no problem.

Need new tires but too many choices ......

x3. I ran through two sets on my Caddy (235/70R15) and liked them...only complaint is they are only T speed rated. (But that's fine for a /6 Barracuda...)

    17x9 Cop Car Steelies

Wheel Vintiques made 17" steelies. (Jeff Koch's HRM project Montego ran them.) They still do...they have these, which they will sell in primer and you can paint black. Not "cop car" wheels, but might work. Failing that...might late-model Crown Victoria wheels work?

    trailer VS car tire????

    And most are not radials!

    Tall Front Runners In Radials?

Those are tough, but a 205/75R15 is easy enough to get and a 215/75 even more so.

    Tall Front Runners In Radials?

That might be because they are OVERLOADED! How much weight do you have on those tiny tires?

    Modern Spare Tire Fitment

The Cherokee's 16" wheel should fit. What about a later Mustang?

    Modern Spare Tire Fitment

    Base-model Jeep Cherokee. IIRC, it's a 125/90D16.

    Sailun Heavy Truck Tires

I know a few people using them...not much beyond that, though nobody has really griped that I've seen. Yes, they're from China. :(

    Performance Tire for 15" Wheel?

I would run four different brands and sizes of no-name Chinese tires before I will give one cent to Michelin! Between their tires literally rotting off the rims, the way they reamed people stuck with their time-bomb XRV's, and their absolute CONVICTION that they have NEVER made one single bad...

    Why small bolt pattern?

The 5 on 4.5" was clearly strong enough for trucks! Proof? It was used into the 80's! (And not just by Dodge...Fords also used it on vans & RWD trucks, though I think 4x4's used a larger circle.) For Jeeps (and 4x4's in general): one reason they tended to use larger bolt circles is...

Have YOU Run 5x100 and had Failure First Hand?

I went to school with a guy who had a SBP Duster. He ran 100mm wheels for about two years. They came off my senior year, because several wheel studs were cracking! One snapped off when removing a tire...three others on that wheel were cracking. I have to say that roofing nail in the tire...

    Lightweight spare tire!!

They are 16" wheels...IIRC, the tire is a T125/90D16, on a black steel wheel. AFAIK, they were standard (the fullsize spare was common, but optional) most of production, until the end in 2001. My wife's 86 had a donut originally (though had a fullsize tire when she got it). Mostly the low-end...
