    Anyone using donut spares?

If you're using a "temporary " spare I would think you wouldn't be ridding on it very long and certainly not doing burnouts . Therefore I don't think you'll be hurting your rear end. My 65 has a pretty small well, so I'm using a Crown Vic aluminum temp like the one pictured above and fits...

the Fords have a smaller center hole, you'll have to hog it out before you use them.

    rallye wheels and tires

There's not a lot of value in the 14" rallies IMO. They are pretty common, and most people favor the 15s. I've seen a local craigslist add for $150 (no centers) for months with no sale. With good tires, maybe $400 for the right person. You do have the centers beauty rings and 4.5" bolt patterns...

    Spare Tire Question

I would say you would want the overall diameter to be the same only if you were driving on it a lot, and the width of the tire wouldn't be an issue unless you drive it like it wasn't a spare (remember the concept of a temporary spare ).

    Spare Tire Question

If your car came with 13's an you haven't done anything that would give you any clearence issues i don't see why not. If you're just using as a spare then a the tire a smaller size if you want, think of it as a temporary spare.

How I Mounted 17" LX Rear Drive Wheels on My Cuda

I mounted 225/50-17 tires in the rear and 215/40-17 up front and I've had no clearance issue with this set up. It works out the rear tire diameters are same as the factory F78-14 and the fronts are slightly smaller lowering the front end a little.

How I Mounted 17" LX Rear Drive Wheels on My Cuda

This leaves a pretty ugly hole so I found some chrome wheel center (Mr. Gasket #1750) that cost me about $40 for the set on Ebay that covered the hole very nicely. I to drilled and tapped mounting holes and I also ground off some of the center's tabs so they would conform to the curvature of the...

How I Mounted 17" LX Rear Drive Wheels on My Cuda

I found the best offset for a these 7” wide wheels for my car would be 4 ½”. These wheels have a 4 ¼” offset so I used a ¼” wheel spacers to get the desired results. These aluminum wheels have a thicker webbing where the lugs mount so I had to install ½ “ longer studs. The biggest problem I ran...

How I Mounted 17" LX Rear Drive Wheels on My Cuda

I mounted late model LX rear wheel drive wheels on My '65 Barracuda with somewhat easy modifications, and I thought I'd post on FAO on what I did to make them work. Considering I got this set of 17X7” aluminum wheels off an 06' Charger for just $120 on craigslist I felt this was a very...

    magnum wheels

They should work fine, I have them on my 65 (converted to 4.5). You'll have to cut a 2 5/8" hole in the center to clear the front outer bearing housing and use a 1/4" spacer and longer studs. I covered the hole with a Torq Thrust type chrome center cap.
