I have a 63 Signet with slant six and automatic. I just love to drive this car! I can cruise at or above 70 on the highway. Always get thumbs up when I drive and people at a local cruise in just love the car. Good luck with your plans.

bembry, Learned to drive on a 63 Galaxie 2 door sports hardtop that my Dad bought new. I had a four door Galaxie as a daily driver back in the day. Those are really nice, big comfortable cars.

I have a 63 2 door. I just checked google images and the wagon bumper looks to be the same as mine. Hope this helps.

Try putting white plumbers tape around head screw before tightening, that might help.

Ann- there are no emblems on my car. They were gone when I got the car, except for the rear emblems on the window chrome. If my son is ever home I might be able to post pics of those.

OK, I am unable to post from my brochure. However, I just went outside to check the V-emblems on the chrome just behind the rear windows of my Signet 2 door. These emblems have the remnants of the blue and red paint on them. I, therefore, conclude that the v-emblems should have the blue and red...

Went back and tried print ads. Found some actual cars and some ads with the reverse of my previous post. Was it possible that the Signet200, upper level, had a different emblem from the base models?

OK, I googled videos of 63 Valiants. The US versions seem to have a chrome hood emblem as shown by painsinner; the Canadian ones seem to have a painted black emblem. I don't know when my son will be home to post pics. I will try to find some advertising and see what is revealed.

Painsinner, yours looks to be an original!! The only difference is the etched writing above Valiant.

Does anyone own a NOS 63 Hood Emblem for reference purposes?!

What painsinner has posted seems to be an original emblem. Is it possible that over the years we just painted them black? Since the brochure seems to indicate black. I never thought that a simple hood emblem would have us all acting like Mr. Holmes or Messr. Poirot!
