63 Valiant vs 64-66 Fuel tanks

I ordered the CR11F tank from 1A Auto and it came with the sending unit gasket and lock ring as well as the filler neck grommet. Appears to be good quality.

63 Valiant vs 64-66 Fuel tanks

Did the CR11F tank come with the grommet? Or do I need to order it separately and will it work with the 63 filler neck?

63 Valiant vs 64-66 Fuel tanks

I am looking at getting a new tank, and noticed on Classic Industries that they have a different part# for the 1963 compared to the 1964-1966 tanks. Can a 64+ tank be used in a 63? 1964-1966 Plymouth Parts | FT6001A | 1964-66 Mopar A-Body - 18 Gallon Fuel Tank - Zinc Coated Steel | Classic...

anyone have a source for this?

Looks like the clip is just an E clip. You can buy a large assortment kit of them from harbor freight. Maybe if someone has measurements of the washer you should be able to get what you need.

anyone have a source for this?

You might get lucky and find what you need at a True Value hardware store. They have lots of odd and end type clips. I can remember off the top what its supposed to look like.

    Dark Turquoise Poly

Just watched fast and loud and they were trying to match 20 year old paint. It was a PPG color originally and they got the paint from them. Didn't match. They talked to the original painter and the paint calls for a white base, but he used dark gray, but also the EPA forced a change in the paint...

    Windshield - Restore or replace?

I love when you call 1 of the first questions they ask is "Is your insurance paying for this?". I wonder what the price is for the INS, Co compared to me. I have $0 deductible for glass for my daily.

    Early style sb water pumps

I have a brand new GMB aluminum water pump that I bought for my 360, but I'm using the 318 timing cover. The aluminum pump is to thick so my pulleys don't line up. Bought a new cast iron unit and now they line up, but my timing marks are on the wrong side as is the inlet for the rad hoses.

Remove glass fuses without breaking them?

Do what I did and just swap out the whole wiring system, then install a 21 circuit system:wtf:. Then you have more then enough circuits to run anything you ever want later, including power windows, locks, fan, fuel pump and fuel injection. Or maybe like my wife calls me "Captain Overkill". I'd...

    One HOT 4dr!!!

Maybe the filler neck was cracked and leaked into the wheel well area and onto the tire/brake area. It would be an interesting story to say the least.

    Early A floor pans

After seeing this post, I started looking closer at the rockauto floors and the ABS floors and you can clearly see the difference in quality. Just ordered front and rears today. Question, how to remove the pans? I have cutoff wheels and and sawzall. Both? Or is 1 better then the other? Or just...

Disc Brake kits for Early A's ??

On my 63 Valiant convert I used the Wilwood kit for 9" drums. I bought it from summitracing on their clearance rack for $400. It was missing 1 bolt that I bought off amazon for $7. I used my original spindles and since I had already rebuilt the front end, I didn't need to replace any parts. Im...

9" Drum and Wilwood Disc Brake Conversion

I have the Wilwood kit on my 63 Valiant with the 9" drums. I also have the 14" Cragers on the car. Everything wits nice and clearance is good. The only problem I ran into is the wheel studs were bigger than the stock 7/16". I ended up drilling the Cragers to accept the 1/2" studs and using the...

    340 Engine swap in a 1963 Valiant

When I got my 63, it had a 318 in it. The previous owner (Good ol Dad) hit the firewall with a hammer and that's when he found out why the hump was there, broke the wiper motor. I pulled the tired 318 out and put in a 360 using the Schumacher swap mounts. '63-66 A-Body Products
