1979 Dodge aspen street car build. (How fast?)

Need more info on the engine, but my guess would be 12.50's on motor. That is the same cam I run in my 1979 volare station wagon. It is stupid slow, but that isn't the cam's fault. I got bored last christmas, and slapped it in the stock 318, some fresh heads, and a weiand sigle plane LOL. my...

Roll Cages: Chromoly VS. Mild Steel

I'm not saying one way is better than the other really, I went chromo because it was lighter, and the cost was $235.00 more. That's not a much more in my case with the chassis shop I used. If the welds are good, I doubt you will see any cracking, my car is a street car, and it is just fine. If...

Roll Cages: Chromoly VS. Mild Steel

The 6 point weights will vary slightly because you wont be using 1 5/8" tubing. A roll bar requires 1 3/4" tubing. BUT the weight difference will still be 36% -Kenny

Roll Cages: Chromoly VS. Mild Steel

I KNOW RIGHT!? I am mostly human. haha. I have a little bit of titianium in one shoulder, but the rest is all human! The welding cost really can vary weather your MIGing or TIGing. I can't weld, so, I used a chassis shop, and he would have TIG'd the cage either way, because he doesn't like...

Roll Cages: Chromoly VS. Mild Steel

Hey everyone, On another forum, the question of cost, and weight came up over a Chromoly rollcage vs. a Mild steel roll cage. As for the price, it depends on who build the cage for you. The guy that caged my Aspen told me the MS cage would cost me at least the same as far as fabrication would...

Drug home the Valiant last weekend...

Thanks for tuning in! We have a customer with a 65 Canadian Valiant (65 American Dart) with one of our street 500ci. I am a big fan of the early ones too. As for the cage, I put a chromoly Art Morrison 10 point in my Aspen a few years back now. Awesome fit, and they are located closer...

Drug home the Valiant last weekend...

Thanks, honestly, if you can't see it in those pictures, it isn't there. Haha. It doesn't have an engine or transmission. The interior is shot. I guess if you wanted the diff, it won't be staying. I couldn't imagine you would want that puny little diff though. It should be a fun project. It...

Drug home the Valiant last weekend...

You and me both! Hopefully it looks similar on the outside when it hits the streets again. I have a set of Centerline Rev wheels for it that I bought for my current car (1976 Dodge Aspen). I had planned on putting a 4 speed in the Aspen and a narrowed Dana 60. So, I ordered the wheels with the...

Drug home the Valiant last weekend...

Yeah, that 68 in Kelowna looked like an abandoned car. California plates, as well, I asked the man at the gas station if he knew where it went. He did not know, but said it was there for quite a while. Maybe you could check with the local RCMP. They may have impounded it and it could be just...

Drug home the Valiant last weekend...

YES! That is the exact car that I wanted to grab. When I found that it wasn't there anymore, I had to have one haha. I think this '67 is a bit better. It needs front floor pans, but the rest is pretty solid. Dusted72, I don't really plan on painting it anytime soon. It would be great to fit...

Drug home the Valiant last weekend...

Funny you mention that. My parents seen a 1968 sitting on the side of the road by Kelowna. I was on holidays out there and drove past to see if it was still there. It was not there when I went by, so I started looking on Moparts and here. I found this 1967, and bought it a few days later. I...

Any idea what the deck hieght is? If it isn't standard, your intake manifold wont work. You will also have to buy a new camshaft and lifter set if it is a 48 degree block. I am currently putting a 59 degree W2 top end on a 48 degree block. I have some pictures in this thread...
