My 383 roadrunner converter stalled at 2600 behind a 440 about 2400 behind the 383.

I'd guess high compression, huge roller cam,ported heads,intake and exhaust plus tricks we've never heard of. Pro stock type motor with some factory parts.

Some people think if you have a 4000 stall you have to hit 4000 rpm for the car to move. Can't tell them different. Arrrrrg.

I only run mechanical cams. Just thinking get more power with less radical cam and no maintenance and ticking. Getting older and my wife don't care for the noise.

I've been looking at alot of builds using hydraulic roller cams and I am very impressed with the hp and torque with some pretty small roller cams. Seems like most people on here dispise them.

My racing buddy has a 440 based 493 that made 782. It is 12.5 comp. 270 heads lunati 276 284 @.050 .690 lift cam. Times convert to 760 hp so pretty close.

My buddy had a 375hp 396 chevelle with 4.10 gears. Still one of the fastest bone stock cars I've ever ridin in. 4 speed car and he could drive.
