Sorry I haven't put an update on this lately. But the engine is running good. I have put factory disc brakes, replacing the Scarebird disc setup and a new rear end, thank you DaveCuda. I also have put 15' tires with new chrome Rallye rims. Rides great. Still have a slight leak in the power steering.

Having some issues with the Scarebird brake conversion. The new sway bar that was installed interferes with the brakes. The calipers hit the sway bar when turning. Bummer. So that will be coming off until I go with the 73 and up spindles and a frame. Also Scarebird sent the wrong mounting plates...

Well so far the EFI was an easy install. My mechanic was very good at doing all the small things that make it run well as well as making it look good. This is the system I used. Can't wait to take it for a ride let everyone know how it performs. http://www.atomicefi.com/home.aspx

Greeting Members and Happy News Year, Well the day came. I went down to the shop where the car is just to check on progress. To my surprise they were ready to turn the key. They installed the new gas tank, secured the power steering, but the hose was leaking, so they removed the belt. I didn't...

Thanks for the tip. I called my guy let him know and he said the bracket he ordered was for my pump on a small block 8. It should be in within a day or so. I will let you know if you are correct. It it doesn't fit, it will be just another speed bump. As usual this site keeps me informed and aware.

Thank you for all the kind and encouraging words. I have found the latest picture of the project. It was taken last week. I have a few more, but they were taken with my good camera, that after 3 years, I still have trouble figuring out the settings. Hence they are too large to upload. I need...

Well here is an update of my engine swap on my 66 valiant. I'm sorry I haven't kept this thread going as I started a new job shortly after starting this post. While the engine refresh didn't go as well as expected, It needed to be bored, cleaned and rebuilt. The heads also needed to be redone...

The Old Red Valiant is getting a new engine.

Fitting under the hood is my worry, Might have to go with a lower manifold. It is an automatic. The engine came with tranny. I had it rebuilt. And I don't have any Commando covers, just the stock ones. Why do you have any for sale? I also am putting a MSD Atomic throttle body EFI. Front disc...

I pulled the trigger and bought a used 273 with auto trans, attached for a low price. Now the fun begins. Since I am not equipped, with tools or talent, a friend in my car club owns a local speed shop, http://www.bobbycspeedconnection.com/ in Norfolk Ma.. He agreed to do the fresh up on the old...
