Is there a junkyard gem slant six combo?

I'm probably using the 67 pistons, just assuming more compression. But I'm looking for insight on block, head, crank, rods, etc.... What's wrong with the 1920 carb? It's been several years since I ran one, but I always thought they were about the best 1 barrel ever put on a slant. Only one...

Is there a junkyard gem slant six combo?

I'm looking to build a slant six for one of my future projects. In my current inventory, I have 225s from the following years... 1967 1972 1975 1976 1979 Super Six 1980 Jasper reman 1983 So, my question is basically, is there any year that is better than others as far as block, crank, pistons...

Still trying to figure out what AAWJ means on engine block.

I was always told it had something to do with the specific iron makeup, as far as nickel content, etc. But I have no way to verify that. Might be something to it, or it might just be a legend I've heard for nearly 40 years.

Driving a sick engine and oddly enjoying it.

As a teenager, I worked at a local salvage yard. The owner had a daytime job working for the state, and the yard was open evenings from 430 to 830. Anyway, we got a 75 or 76 Valiant in once with a 225 with a rod knock. The car had a little more than three quarters of a tank of fuel. The yard...

Driving a sick engine and oddly enjoying it.

That was 1992. I didn't even own a camera back then. I was just a 20 year old, dirt poor Mopar enthusiast, trying to make enough money to hopefully get his 70 Challenger SE put back together

Yes, the famous slant five. All my friends remember it well. I'm not sure what kept the rest of the piston from breaking and allowing the wrist pin to slam the cylinder wall. Luck I guess.

Driving a sick engine and oddly enjoying it.

Back around 1992, I bought a 1980 Dodge Aspen wagon for 50 bucks that had a brand new state inspection sticker and a bad miss. Planning to get a year out of it, I gave it a quick tune up. The miss stayed. Compression test revealed almost zero on number six. Decided to just drive it. I never...

Slant 6 - how to remove safely

I always keep a couple spare driveshaft yokes around. When you disconnect the driveshaft, grab the spare yoke and slap it in, and just leave it till the engine and trans are out. If you are prepared and quick, you can do this without spilling more than a few drops of ATF.

Does anyone know what these headers will fit.

I know you weren't referring to my place, but that statement applies here. Last slant I sold went for $100, and the last /6 904 trans fetched $75.

non a body slant six d100 question

A few years back, my daily driver was a 76 D100 2wd longbed with a slant and a 727. Since I generally drive too fast, I coulda replaced the throttle with a toggle switch, lol. After a year of this, I put a mild 318 (headers, 360 cam, BIG TQ) and fresh 727 in the truck and actually GAINED 2 MPG...
