    MRL Mild 383 Build

So true. Not every engine has to be an all out race motor. Just how much HP is needed to drive on the street?

    383 or 440 Dilema

I say 383!!!!! I don't believe in getting hung up on numbers. HP and ETs are great but as long as the car feels and looks the way you want. That ALL that matters. And remember back in the day most cars racing on the street and track were 383. HEMIs were for the rich and factory backed racers...

I'll see if I can borrow my dad's self propelled mower. It's pretty fast. He has a hard keeping up with it.

    El Cheapo vs. 440

What are doing for the clutch? Linkage or Hyd.?
  21. WRB426

    Clutch linkage

I forgot about Passion. Thanks. I know with the right engineering it can be done. I don't have a lot experiance with engineering.
  22. WRB426

    Clutch linkage

Wasn't sure which forum to put this in. I'm putting in a 383 in my 64 Dart. I've been going back and forth between auto or 4 speed. I only will go the 4 speed way if I can run linkage. Don't want to run a hydraulic setup. I like oldsschool. I emailed Brewer's and he said nothing will work. I...

    Talk me into Fenderwell Headers

Do what I'm going to do. Spend the cash and have a set made for your car. There is a lot of crafty people out there that can build you a set just the way you like them. And as you mention heat shield everything close. 2" headers under a car is very tight and hard to work on.

    Talk me into Fenderwell Headers

I'm in the same boat. Now I'm going to tell you just do it!!!! How was that. Did I talk you into it?

    1965 Dart 2-door post

Thanks for bringing up this thread. I forgot about it. Seem hard to get good info on BB in early As. I've found a few things but not enough. If I wasn't such a BB hound I would just stick with a SB.

    What do you think?

    What's this motor going in????

New guy to big block world, need a 400HP 383 Recipe

Didn't Mopar Muscle do a stock 383. Then added headers, cam, intake and carb? I do believe they got 450 HP using the stock 906 heads. With better heads I would imagine the numbers would go up.

    440 source

I was wondering the same thing. I'd like to hear MRL chime in.
