Brake Pedal Goes to Floor When Car is Running

If I'm rading this right, when you start the car the pedal goes to the floor without you even pressing on it? If so, defective brake booster is my diagnoses.

    front drums w/o hubs?

Seems like a maintenance nightmare to swedge the studs to the drums considering I've never seen new drums with hubs. Why did they make such a dumb setup? My drums have never been fused to my hubs and the setup works just fine.

Argument over A body brake shoes

My question is, if your car is running 10" drums and this guy is selling 9" shoes, how did you even get in an arguement with him and why are you continuing to waste your time with him? The shoes don't fit your car so don't waste your time, thats my advice. Unless you have too much time on your...

    Help with front hub!!

If by any chance you end up ruining the hub while trying to get this fixed, (it's easy to do when lugs spin) I have 3 good ones laying around and I would let one go for shipping. I suspect the adaptors are the problem. Sorry I can't halp more. Good luck.:glasses7:

    Scarebird Conversion Almost Complete

Cool! Thanks for clearing that up for me! Do you know what bp the celebrity rotors are to begin with? And on a side note, for some reason I have never had an issue with stuck drums on my car before. Reletives cars, customer cars, any vehicle but mine and my dads, yes they get stuck. Odd huh?

    front spindle nut torque

I always take an adjustable wrench or channel locks and spin the drum in counter clockwise while tightening. Get it real good and tight once to seat the bearings, enough to stop the drum from spinning. Continue spinning the drum while you back the nut off two turns and then torque it just past...

    Converting to Power Brakes

So I've decided after years of having fun with manual brakes that I think it may be time to upgrade to power brakes. My dart has 4 wheel drums and even though the stopping power is great for me, it doesn't do it for my sister who occasionally needs to drive my car. She had knee surgery about a...

What is the best brake fluid to use on these

I've never seen DOT 5 deteriorate rubber parts in a system designed for DOT 3, 4 and 5.1. But I'm just going off what I learned in the textbooks in automotive. Dan hit everything on the head, he knows his facts. To harpe on something he said, DOT 3 and 4 break fluid are compatible with each...

What is the best brake fluid to use on these

DOT 5 will eat all your rubber up unless you change it all out for components compatible with Silocone based fluids does it not?
