It revs fine, no soot comes out but the the edges of the pipes are black

Fuel volume is fine. Trying to do timing. Right now it's set at 6/7 BTDC, I believe. I guess I'm not sure which 10 is BTDC

I have a timing light....just having a problems finding the factory timing marks. Ill check the fuel volume/pressure when I get a chance

How would I go about doing that?
