Getting a new toolbox for my home shop

I worked out of their 200 buck 5 drawer tool cart for years working maintenance in a steel shop. Only issue was the struts for the lid went out. I out grew it long before I upgraded to a larger Sunex cart. I liked the US General better it was just too small and I got a deal on the Sunex. Fast...

    need a new chainsaw

They have quite the following. They've got me drinkin the koolaid lol. I love my blue clone. Of course I'd love a genuine Stihl but I just couldn't justify paying a mortgage payment for a firewood saw.

    need a new chainsaw

I hate supporting china just as much as everyone else but I bought a Holzfforma G444 from Farmertech. It's an MS440 clone. Had it since last October. 336 bucks shipped. I've got probably 12- 15 tanks through it. Absolutley rips. I couldn't afford a new stihl of the same size. It came down to a...

    1/2 cordless impact opinions

I have a bunch of Milwaukee stuff. All has been great. If a guys goes with Milwaukee ya need to consider the FUEL brushless series. Phenomenol power and battery life. I would go brushless with any of them. Had I known about Rigid's warranty I would have maybe gone that route. No complaints about...

Horror Freight Titanium Mig 140---Seek Honest Assessment from the Pro's

Had these been around when I bought my Tweco I may have picked one up instead. Looks like a nice little unit. I really like the dual voltage capability for that extra power. My 141i serves me pretty well though. I have a couple larger machines if I need them.

Horror Freight Titanium Mig 140---Seek Honest Assessment from the Pro's

Yep. Seeing it is half the battle. Learning to let it tell you what it wants or needs is the other. Heat deposition rate/travel speed, rod/gun angles.

Horror Freight Titanium Mig 140---Seek Honest Assessment from the Pro's

Oxy-fuel, SMAW (stick), MIG (solid wire), FCAW, TIG. That was the order in school. Lots of fundamentals to be learned in gas welding or even stick welding. If a guy can see the puddle he can be taught any process with a few pointers along the way. Some have a hard time seeing past the arc. Not...

Horror Freight Titanium Mig 140---Seek Honest Assessment from the Pro's

Proper electrode selection is huge. Learn the proper techniques, heat ranges and purpose of say 6013, 7018, 6011 and a guy can do alot on the cheap.

Horror Freight Titanium Mig 140---Seek Honest Assessment from the Pro's

For sure a no contest between self shielded wire and solid wire with a 75/25 mix. However the flux core can be ran successfully with out the bird **** appearance. Millers are great machines.

It's an inverter machine. That's the weight difference. I'm not up on the technology as much as I probably should be. From my experience every inverter machine I have ever ran has been in a small package and pretty dang smooth.

Horror Freight Titanium Mig 140---Seek Honest Assessment from the Pro's

140 Amps is plenty for automotive. My Tweco 141i is a 140 amp machine. Does great. I welded a few cattle stanchions for a buddy with the 99 dollar flux core special. The welds looked good and they were intact 3 years later after selling his herd. I don't see a spool gun in the pics. Aluminum...

Blew 200 bucks, and "yes" it was Horrid Freight

For the money you absolutely can not beat that box. I used one for almost 4 years working industrial maintenance. I out grew mine and use it at home.

Need thoughts on battery operated sawsall

I have the Milwaukee Fuel 18v. Its awesome. I think it was 250 bucks with the 9 amp hour battery from MSC. They claim it will make like 92 cuts through 2x12 pine on a charge.
