ps if you are going to try respraying yourself I recommend Revell Chrome Spray although I can't say how durable it is.

I don't think anyone does plastic chroming anymore. You can get repros though Dash and Gauge

Thanks Rick! That confirms my suspicion that the PO installed an incorrect striker ….for some odd reason.

My door doesn't close all the way even with adjustment. It looks like somebody has been playing with it as the plate for the screws is missing and the wrong screws were half arsed installed. I made a new plate. The striker is about 1 1/4" long. Does anybody have a measurement on a correct one...

I'm happy with the bottoms (bad photo angel) but am really struggling with the backs. Maybe I will break down and get new foams but I am not there yet. The backs have 1" foam on the side faces and they still don't look right. I'm going to find some higher density foam and give it another go...

I don't find 77 good when you need something to grip fast. Of course you get the chance to reposition the piece before it sticks permanently. If I wasn't getting by with the 77 I would try the 90 or 74.

If you buy a foam kit you have to glue the muslin and some foam pieces on. Also if you want to add foam you’ll need spray glue.

I’m using 3M 77 and it works great. I was thinking about getting some 74 but didn’t need it.

I saw the ad but seeing as the '70 is a 1 year only foam it can't fit both a 70 and 71 A body. I sent them an email and they say they fit '70 only which is nice to know if plan A doesn't work out.

I’ve got 70 challenger seats. As far as I can see the only difference is the listing wire channels. The Dart seats have wider spacing. I think I can cut new channels and trim the foam a bit. I’ll post some pics if it turns out.

Legendary confirmed that no foams are available from them and that my 70 Challenger foams will be close so I’m going to give it a shot.

I trail fitted the covers onto the foams and its pretty close if not the same profile. I watched the Legendary videos and glued 1/2" foam onto the foams to fill out the covers better. The only real issue is how well gluing the channels shut and recutting new channels will go. I've got nothing...

I’m not sending them to a shop. Around here they will want $1-$2k and it will be 50/50 they do a good job.

I can do that but the channels/slots are in the wrong place. I can glue them shut and cut new ones if that is the only solution. The listing wires would have to be relocated too. Do you know where the foam has to be reshaped?

I tried installing my new Legendary seat covers on my 70 Challenger buckets only to find out that the foams are different. The listing wire slots are wider on the Dart covers so I'll have to install new ones. What are the chances that somebody has dimensions? I'm I can find correct new seat...

Glue burlap to the back of the foam to reinforce it. Legendary also has a few videos showing how they glue 1/2 inch foam to the foam face to help fill out the covers.

The Legendary seat covers I received look to be high quality. I don't see a local upholstery shop replicating these. Its a good thing for YT. Legendary has a few great videos on how to rebuild the foams and install the covers. I didn't anything specific to the '70 A body but this looks close...

I was told that many textile companies went out of business during Covid causing delays. On top of that demand skyrocketed.

Well I ordered in Nov so I don't know. Legendary is quoting 10 months last I checked.

Christmas is coming! After waiting for 13 months Classic Industries is shipping my Legendary seat covers (as well as a pile of other parts held on the order). I had a horrible feeling when I was on the phone with them today as I thought for a moment that I ordered a single cover and not a pair...

Yeah they look like early Duster although I thought the 70/71 A/E bodies had metal hinge covers. They could have been replaced.

same seat tracks I believe....one is $USD and the other is $Cdn. I scrounged and bought used tracks although they need some repairs.

I don't believe they have part numbers. Those look very tall....not sure what they fit.

I hope my covers are nice. They were around $400 I think. The local guys won't even get out of bed for that kind of money.
