    Lithium ion vs Air

Can't paint with a battery. In my experience, an air tool will weigh less than its battery operated counterpart. Unless there is a battery operated tool "system" out there, the shop is going to be cluttered with power taps and battery chargers of every description. Can't beat a good battery...

wanting ideas on building a body cart for 70-74 a bodies

Don't know where you'll be rolling. Suggest 2 fixed and 2 pivoting casters as Burdar has done. If four pivoting casters are used, moving on a slant with one person trying to handle the move can be problematic as casters will tend to pivot down hill.

    Wd-40

WD-40 makes up 50% of the Redneck Tool Kit. The other half is duct tape. The use of the Redneck Tool Kit is as follows: If it moves and shouldn't, use duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use WD-40. Anything else in the box merely facilitates these two basic requirements.

    copper vs pvc compressor lines?

There is no way I'd use plastic for high pressure air. Our shop used iron pipe. We had a 4 inch manifold pipe across the back of the shop that was slanted from the right. At the low end of the pipe was a drain valve. All of the connections tee-d off the top of the manifold. From there...

    Tool Brands

Can you say lifetime warranty? Why sure you can. The box has mostly S-K, and Craftsman with a smattering of Cobalt, Snap-on, and Mac thrown in. I've had the ½" S-Ks since 1968 only recently replaced the ½" ratchet handle (head broken trying to extract a ball joint aided by a 6' cheater bar)...

    Engine Stands?

I have a three wheeler. Never had a problem in 18 years with it falling over. The only dicey situations I have experienced are when moving over large gaps between concrete slabs, such as the lip going from a driveway into a garage. At some point all of the weight is supported by the front...

    Air compressors

The thing that should drive air compressor selection is the cfm required for the "hungriest" tool. HP, power, and tank size should be selected to support the required cfm without having the motor run constantly. Try this site to configure your need...

    Wd-40

Use as starting fluid on the old B&S on the lawn mower. This product also composes ½ of my "Redneck Toolkit". The other ½ is duct tape. Here's how the R/T works. If it don't move and should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use duct tape. Yee Ha!

    paint booth

Kanders has got a lot of good suggestions. The spraybooth at an aircraft shop I used to use had filters on the intake and exhaust fans. It was amazing how much paint the exhaust filters caught and cut down on the odor, too. I strongly recommend using a respirator and a covering for head and...
