    440 wont start when hot.

A plastic or phenolic spacer would be better than an aluminum or wood one. The aluminum one, IMO would conduct some heat towards the carburetor. I have difficulty with the idea of a highly combustible fuel/air mixture whizzing past a wooden block is a good idea. They do work, but I stay away...

    440 wont start when hot.

Vapor lock x whatever. A number of people with /6 have had this problem because the fuel line runs close to the water outlet and the exhaust of the #1 cylinder. The two solutions I have seen work are to re-route the fuel line for at least more stand-ff from the heat sources, the other is to...

    Performer RPM intake?

A lot is going to depend on whether you run a spacer (how thick?), the height of the filter element and the recess of the air filter base.

Big block A body spool mount K member?

I've never seen a K-frame like that. The anti-roll bar on the factory /6 and SB cars goes through the K-frame not around the front. I'd be curious to know if what you have was made by Mopar Performance or a third party. There's something unusual about the steering linkage, too. I won't be...

What type of 440 is this? (Pictures)

Here's are articles on 440 heads. The 902s are discussed towards the end of the first article. The second is a forum where a guy has written in to see how to get power out of the 902s. http://www.moparmusclemagazine.com/techarticles/5115_cylinder_heads/...

    1.88" Exhaust Valve

The 413 and 426 M/W engines needed a notch to clear the 1.88 exhaust valve. I've got nothing to tell me how to prep a 413/426 block for the 1.88E, so I don't have a feel for how much less might be needed for the 440 (if any). I also don't know how close to your intake valve a 1.88 inch exhaust...

Missing bad under load. Where to start???

Check all of the above first. Check ground on electric fuel pump, if you're using one. Do not know location of fuel pressure gauge sending unit. Check ground on it. Check fuel lines between sending unit and carburetor and eliminate kinks.

Shopping for a dart and want to swap in a big block...got some questions.

If my 73 is any example, all drum brake A-bodies used SBP hubs. Disk brake cars from 73 on used BBP hubs. That said, all 73 & > used the larger upper ball joint.

Shopping for a dart and want to swap in a big block...got some questions.

You may not be able to see it personally, but asking here on FABO for info and/or photos from someone who has a factory BB might be a start. It won't cost you anything. The worst that can happen is that your request will be ignored. ;-)

Shopping for a dart and want to swap in a big block...got some questions.

If you're looking for a big block Dart, good luck. The magic years are 67-69 inclusive. Of the factory installed 383s, according to Govier's records, there were 457 built in 67 and 2106 in 68. Not included in these totals were 48 that were factory built for Mr. Norm's that had 440s. Also not...

    Orange cast AL valve covers

Leanna ( Cudachick1968 ) here on FABO did these for me. If you want 'em in hemi orange, she can do 'em. The 318 and artwork is custom. She ought to be able to do what you want with an as cast set of Mopar Performance Al covers. Give her a holler and tell her 2 Darts sent you.

    H51 Police Interceptor 440?

I've seen some underhanded stuff done with spray foam insulation. All the same, that's going to one fun and thirsty boat you're picking up. For sure, big back seat, big trunk.

    361 engine specs

Look for any 63 or later 383 with a 4 bbl. These had a high compression ratio. The 383 2 bbl was a standard motor Chrysler Newports & 300 Sports (non-letter series) for a while. These are low compression engines. The 361 4bbl was the top cataloged engine (413 Max Wedge was not in the...

    slant 6 to 440

If you're going drag racing, hang onto the T-bars. PS pump pulley will need to align with one on the 440. PS pump mount won't work on 440.

So you want 2 go Big block...Read this first!

Always a good idea to count the costs before you dive in. Even then there are the aw hells that run the total up. One of the things missed is that in doing a disk brake conversion on a /6, you need to figure in BBP wheels and appropriate tires. Even if one goes to the KH brakes and SBP...

    long tube cross ram info

Very cool, in deed! Hope you used a RB motor for the mock-up. The higher deck height will push the carbs farther apart than a 361-400 will. As far as cam selection goes, a little more information is needed. What is the compression ratio? Rear gear? For the sake of discussion, a 3000...

    67 383 2 barrel specs

Sorry, my books don't go back that far. The 67 shouldn't be far off the 69 specs I have. The 69 383 2bbl comp ratio 9.2:1 horsepower 290 @ 4400 torque 380 @ 2400 valve spring rated at 200 Lbs @ 1.43 in for the 2 bbl. 220 for for the 4 bbl. Specs remained the same for 1970...

    K-Member for engine swap

No. They are not all the same. Someone from the older A-body group will have to help with this one. The front track was widened when the 273 came out. The /6 and V-8 I understand used the same K-member. From 67-72, there were three different ones used /6, LA, & B/RB (67-69). From 73 on...
