    72 Dart Swinger 3.6L Pentastar +T5

Probably why it's still the most popular engine to run

For most It would be transmission and the electronics.

    72 Dart Swinger 3.6L Pentastar +T5

The 3.6l is an impressive little engine too bad it wasn't easier to swap since there's ton of them out there cheap.

I think an AWD 3.6l A Body swap would be kind of kewl.

    1968 Barracuda fastback..formula S 383/4spd..Restore or not?

Of course it is his car, but why would you cut up probably a pretty valuable car, he probably could get a good dollar for it the way it is and buy probably better shape non muscle car (/6-318) to turn into a race car.

    1968 Barracuda fastback..formula S 383/4spd..Restore or not?

I'd probably sell it to someone who wants to return it 100% original, and buy another car to turn into a race car. It got to be worth a few bucks to the restoration crowd.

Could this idea work ? Did other guys did this ? 318 infos

I basically agreed with what you said why I gave thumbs up but Why do I need to go the racing forum ? I didn't bring velocity on super mild hop up, if the OP wants to do his mods cause of budget and whatever other reasons more power to him and be interested how it worked out. I like people doing...

Could this idea work ? Did other guys did this ? 318 infos

I think this general census has caused people to leave power on the table, yet to see dyno results that prove 318 heads make more torque down low, not saying velocity isn't important but we only have a few head choices and yet seen a dyno result that shows one killing low end torque.

    manifold has both mounting holes.

Could this idea work ? Did other guys did this ? 318 infos

true, it wouldn't be my goto mod but should improve power slightly over stock.

Could this idea work ? Did other guys did this ? 318 infos

i wouldn't worry about the port mismatch, is it ideal no but is gonna stop gains in power also no.

Could this idea work ? Did other guys did this ? 318 infos

your plan will increase power just not a large amount like the 282 hp one I posted, I wasn't trying to discourage you just pointing out you don't have to worry about keeping mods super small or torque will suffer

even look at this extreme 477 hp 318 makes 50 tq more than the stock 2bbl 318 at 2500 rpm, don't forget the 2bbl dyno with headers so even would make less torque. Iron-Headed Mopar 318 Magnum Engine- Popular Hot Rodding Magazine

Could this idea work ? Did other guys did this ? 318 infos

look at these 400-425 hp 318 make about the same tq at 3000 rpm with more head cam etc.. even at 2000 rpm bet these engines are on par or better than the stock 2bbl 318, not saying don't build it your way but generally stock low power engine gonna make the least amount of torque all but maybe...

Could this idea work ? Did other guys did this ? 318 infos

Are we talking part throttle or full throttle ? On a full the throttle run what an engine makes under 2500 rpm really don't matter much you spend almost zero time there. Even half throttle makes 80% power of full with similar curve. Look at the dyno run of the article on my post with cam and...

Could this idea work ? Did other guys did this ? 318 infos

2bbl will give up power to 4bbl, hod rodding is a series of compromises, each to their own, overall with your plan you should gain over stock, here's a stock low cr long block with 4bbl xe262h cam and headers for 282 hp @ 5000 rpm 340 tq @ 3500 rpm, give you an idea what some basic mods will do...

    318 or 360?

I 99% agree but I always think you can go up a few steps or two above stock low power cam, without effecting bottom end. A stock 5.9l with 4bbl and headers is Base HP/TQ even without headers you'd only lose 10 hp or so. This engine hits the marks you where talking about peak hp at 4400 rpm and...

    318 or 360?

What would you give more importance to gears or stall ?
  27. 273

    318 or 360?

I look at displacement as another form of gearing, eg.. a 360 with 3.55 gear Is like a 318 with 4.10 gears. Or a 408 with 3.23 if all putting out similar HP.
  28. 273

    318 or 360?

I’d also look for 904 with the deeper 1st gear, 2.74:1. Especially if you plan on using high rear end gear like a 3.23 or 2.96.

    318 or 360?

I think 92 was the dividing year, Magnum has a few changes the make it different engine family. block wise is pretty much the same, it’s basically a head package, the main things that make it different for swap, is it’s balanced different than a 360, and the intake bolt holes are a different...
