    so the last six of the vin makes sense... 146673. that leaves 2 which should be the year of the vehicle that it was pulled from, 1972. the 0 might be a G, which would be St. Louis plant. Or maybe a B which would be the Hamtramck plant.

    440 is wider/taller than a 383, since it is a Raised block, or RB. The 383 is a B block. It will bolt to everything the 44o does, except perhaps the motor mounts.

    Funny, as I've cut apart plenty of Mopar sheetmetal over the years, that almost everything is spot welded. Lots of overlapping in the rocker panel area, strength built in with bends and curves. There is some stitch welded area on the floor hump as I remember... my 2 pennies
