I've got that same cam in my 340, and have 3.91 rear gears. Yesterday, I ordered a converter from CRT. After talking with John Cope, I settled on a converter with a 2800 to 3000 stall.

Is that their 11" converter?

If so, what is your opinion? I'm looking at their Pro-Street TC. It is supposed to be a 3000 rpm stall. I know actual stall depends on the engine. If DeskTop Dyno can be believed, my 340 has around 420 horsepower and 400 ft lbs of torque. The rear gears are 3.91s. If not Hughes, does anybody...

You will have to fabricate a new transmission mount. You will also do a lot of cutting to the floor pan.

I rebuilt my 727 a couple of years ago. I was really nervous before I started. With the help of Carl Munroe's book the job actually went very smoothly and the transmission works perfectly. I still can't tell you exactly how a 727 works but, at least I can say I rebuilt one.
