    There are no mistakes in model building...just make a junker model. I build only junkers for the last 15 years, I am working on a FABO junkyard now.

    1970 Dart Swinger Model?

    Scale coachworks made them in resin. pretty much the same as building plastic but you needed a donor kit for the interior and wheels and such. I bought a few off Ebay in the past, most go fo around $45.00. If you search online you might be able to find some.

    It's kind of dangerous to to that, I use regular stranded wire. I cut a piece of wire, strip off the insulation and take the strands apart. The wire can be wound around a pin, nail, or whatever is the diameter of the coil you want. The strands can also be used for brake lines, fuel lines, oil...

    solder works alot too...like exhaust, roll bars, nerf bars...etc. Also, I use 2 inch masking tape for vinyl tops, seat upholstery, convertible roofs.

    Here's what I build, the Mopars were sold in the charity auction. I hope to start building again soon. I wanted to offer to build junker models for FABO members of their cars, maybe once I start feeling better I can do that.

    I just spent an hour re-reading this entire thread. I am amazed at the work and detail on the models here. I really miss building my junkers, but with my hands and fingers, I can't build them like I used too. I hope I can do it again soon. Keep up the great work guys and keep the pictures...

    Actually it is a conversion kit built on a 69 hurst olds kit, I don't remember the manufacturer. I bought it off ebay about 6 years ago, it consisted of the grille, bumpers, tail lights and hood.

    Thank you, I used to build showroom type models (still do sometimes) but I prefer junker type. They aren't that difficult to build...and you can't really mess up.
