    Front suspension assemble sequence

I have factory style strut rod bushings in kframe and I tighten nuts down after torsion bars are in. But LCA nuts leave loose until engine in, ride height set, and car down on all 4 wheels then I tighten LCA pivot nuts.

    Borgeson or Firm Feel steering?

Oh and Bergman coupler uses a set screw vs a roll pin. So no more pounding pin in and out to remove coupler from steering box. Back set screw out pull coupler off steering box easy peasy pain free.

    Borgeson or Firm Feel steering?

Bergman Auto Craft sells a Borgeson coupler that attaches to column like a stock coupler. So your steering shaft doesn't need to be modified. I went from manual to power and just slid the shaft in to reduce length. Zero mods to anything on the car none.

67-73 Abody frame Rail and Rad Support

When Hoosier Garage, youtube, repaired front rails on his Duster he said somewhere early '70s upper control arm mounts got a reinforcement. But I think geometry is same. Front bumper mounts prob diff on later cars but cutting welding can get around that problem. Overall I think they...

67-73 Abody frame Rail and Rad Support

Some guy on here few years back bought a blue '69 340 4 spd fastback that was hit hard in front and sat for decades. He got an entire donor front clip, both frame rails, inner fenders, rad support, torsion bar cross member and swapped it in as one piece. Guy was a body shop tech as his day...

Cut a slit in shell then collapsed to crush it in then it will fall out easily.

Are my upper control arms unusable now? 1973 Dart.

I don't see nothing bent in pictures? Not sure which side is suspected to be bent? So guess put it together, see if bushing fits in frame correctly, see if it aligns?

68 Barracuda Front Suspension Rebuild Kit

Some guy on here recently converted a '67 idler mount to a '68 and up style mount. Pictures were posted up etc. K frame was out of the car. I dont recall where it was but recently on here. If it were my car I would swap a later k frame in there my 2 cents. Easier to get parts, stronger, be...

68 Barracuda Front Suspension Rebuild Kit

Little off topic but in case you dont know those biscuit mounts break really easy then fan smacks fan shroud air cleaner hits hood ect. I run Schumaker Torque Strap on mine but used a chain decades back that worked too.

    Borgeson Power Steering Thoughts....

Usually the header clearance problems are with big blocks based on research I have done. I wasn't able to find ppl complaining about Borgeson hitting small block headers.

    Borgeson Power Steering Thoughts....

I bought a Borgeson kit from Bergman Auto Craft. I have stock k frame, stock motor mounts, TTI step headers. The Borgeson box clears headers no dents needed. I do have motor mount shims, two on drivers side, one on pass side. Shims were put on years back to get engine in correct location so...

I put new bearings seals in my original manual 16:1 box many years ago. Zero slop on center none. But I am a grandpa now converting my car to Borgeson PS and putting AC back in so when I drive to grocery store its nice and comfy.

    Diff U bolt torque spec

There are U Bolts that go around the axle housing and through the shock plate to hold axle to leaf springs. Then there are U Bolts on some pinion flanges to hold ujoints to the flange. We are talking about U Bolts that hold axle to leaf spring right? Also Loctite is not Loctite. We have...

    Borgeson Power Steering Thoughts....

For cars with collapsible columns those work. But some years early As, the earlier ones, dont collapse. So have to either cut shaft OR swap to a column that collapses.
  27. 340sFastback

    Borgeson Power Steering Thoughts....

I think the later early As have collapsible columns. Peter from Bergman would know. The universal joint couplers will work but you would have to cut your shaft.

    Borgeson Power Steering Thoughts....

Manual shaft is longer but its a collapsible for crash impacts. So just slide it in use Bergman coupler so no mods to the manual shaft. That how the shaft is on my '69. Early As some of those might not be collapsible.

    Borgeson Power Steering Thoughts....

I am ordering a complete kit to convert manual to power steering so Bergman is supplying PS pump, PS bracket along with PS box hoses etc. Bergman says an obsolete pulley is needed for his PS pump in order to line up with my original '69 pulleys. My car is original AC manual steering car so...
