Depends on the older stands. Those old three legged, thin-wall, tubular upper stands that use a pin are just about certain death. Old doesn't always mean good. That's what I have! Lol

I plan to do some cleaning under my car and will have it up on jack stands. I have four older stands I plan to use as an extra safety measure but want to buy new ones I can trust. Any recommendations?

I love my Craftsman Professional Series vice. It goes for roughly $160 unless on sale and has 60,000 tensil strength, 4.5 inch jaw width, pipe jaws. I got the Wilton looking one, the new ones are square backs but basically the same vise.

Mostly all Craftsman from the early 80's, I have some S&K and I buy alot bent wrenches like the old starter wrenches, nice to have for Mopar V8s..
