    (1971) Thermoquad rebuild question?

It's a 4973s...yes the screw is missing. I actually have two 4973s carbs and a 1972 thermoquad and I am making one good carb from the three. I am not using the base plate in the pic. The other carb does not have the hot idle compensator so I am trying to remove this one.

    (1971) Thermoquad rebuild question?

I believe this is called a hot idle compensator? Does anyone know how it is removed without damaging it? Does anyone know if one is available somewhere? Is it possible to eliminate it and plug it? Thank you.

    Edelbrock Carburetor Fuel Filter

Does anyone know a cross reference for the fuel filter for a 1905 Edelbrock Carb? The Edelbrock brand is over $30.00. I see a FRAM CG3389 and a WIX 33052 that look similar and go for around $5-$7 dollars. Thank you.

    '71 Duster gas cap question

If you do not have the extra venting tube in the trunk and only have the filler tube you need a vented gas cap. I believe they make them now aftermarket as well. https://www.autometaldirect.com/1971-Plymouth-Scamp-fuel-system-gas-caps-md-61-c-26_238.html

Pumping the gas pedal - alot

I read in an article on how to start the old cars as I forgot myself and would pump the gas quickly and often. It stated to pump two times, Slowly. I tried it and it worked great, and not only a quicker start up, but the car runs smoother on the initial cold idle too.
