    Timing request 100 shot 360

I have purchased an Innovate PSN-1 a/f gauge. It has a nitrous shut off feature when the system reads a lean condition. I look forward to posting new better pics of the sparkplug after a pass. Thank you to all sharing your knowledge.

A wide band a/f appears to be in my future. Nice set up btw...one of my all time favorite motors. Here is one of my plugs after a few 100 shot blasts at about 5-12 seconds per run. Not sure what to look for. There are tiny orange speckles on the porcelain next to the electrode. Any input...

    Timing request 100 shot 360

Reading the same type of posts on how fat the factory jets were is suprising. Why have they not reposted leaner tunes? Is there possibly a safe factor built into the old fat tubes helping keep you out of the lean territory in the event something went wrong? Looking forward to p/u an a/f ratio...

    Timing request 100 shot 360

Nice set up. I may move to a similar system. For now, I feel my timing is safe at 30* total using the distributor. Not being familiar with a set up like yours I will have to trust locking down the distributor cor now.

Thx again. I would like to hear how your timing box works for you once you run it.

Wow j par, Mike certainly sounds like a guru. Writing down questions in preparation sounds like sound advise. I will make effort to locate this man and be prepared to listen.

    Timing request 100 shot 360

Wow. Another example of how there is so much to learn. According to your data my tech line had me doing it wrong all along. ALL my fuel jets are bigger than the N2O. No chance I wrote them all backwards when I called for sizes. Were we just lucky we didn't burn up the hypereutectic kb191's? It...

    Timing request 100 shot 360

Mr. Crackedback Sir, attached picture shows the jet sizes we ran on our old kb191 motor. Many bottles were ran through it until excessive bearing clearances forced us to pull it b4 it blew. All jet combos show larger fuel jets as recommended by N2O technicians. I want to understand more and...

Ok, Got Em. Quite the different electrode position. What plug gap do you recommend with my msd parts?

Here is condition of my #1plug being used b4 the spray. I will get my hands on cooler plugs such as the NGK's you mentioned. TY as I did not know to run a cooler plug.

    Timing request 100 shot 360

Many thanks. I'm thinking I will start at 28* then. Wow. huge difference for your old nitrous motor. 11.0 is fast imo. 13.8 pretty good too.

    Timing request 100 shot 360

Mr. flyfish, I am currently at 36* total. Respectfully, pulling 2-4* would put me at 32* to 34*. Can I have that much timing and not damage my kb 107 hypereutectic pistons? Another question...were you running forged pistons in your 8 year success motor? TY!

    Timing request 100 shot 360

thnx again j par. I will look into it. It would be gr8 to leave my timing where its at and have the box shown retard it electronically.

    Timing request 100 shot 360

We are surely in the lower spray category. My piston choice, I learned, have the potential to break the top ring land under extreme punishment. KB assembly guide gives recommendations on ring gap depending on your use from tight to loose when filing your rings to fit. I believe I chose...

    Timing request 100 shot 360

TY j par, I will look into the potential addition of the timing start retard. For now we are giving the distributor a twist. I believe they make an msd box with that built in. I'm just not familiar with that one at the moment. Again, still learning.

Thank you oldkimmer for your input. I am learning as I go. Doing research on this and looks like I will be pulling my plugs and learning to read them after a pass.

    Timing request 100 shot 360

Forgot to mention ring gap....I did not get quantitative # for distance of ring gap when my engine builder assembled it. I did request like 4x to use the maximum gap option when custom fitting them. Judging by the amount of blow by my motor makes at an idle I believe top ring gap is adequate...

Hello FABO its been a while. My Dart is back on the road!! Looking for technical advise on retarding my timing for 100 shot plate system. My engine, while freshly machined, has enough run time imo to introduce spray. Would like to know where the safe zone is. My set up: 73 swinger @ 3,240#...

66, Pistons were already purchased a while ago. Already installed onto rods. Advertised comp. was 9.8...what a joke when compared to actual static. These flat tops do not have valve reliefs. Please check out my new thread on the engine tech forum. Thank you all

Okay, keeping my chin up....I'm getting closer to the actual quantitative figures that I seek. Working my best to understand. How does static compression compare to the advertised piston that I purchased. Looks like static compression is the real compression of my engine and just forget...

Pistons are .1092 @ tdc from top of bare deck. I thought by buying the higher comp. flat tops would rase my comp. Maybe static was just that much less before. FYI This motor made incredible torque before w/ all stock components and a 2bbl.....was probably the .410/.412 cam 252/256...
