Ok when you install, you clip the end the overflow hose goes into the bottom of the bottle. When you clipped that end sometimes what you use to cut it with will colapse the plastic. You open back up with a phillips screwdriver by ramming it up the tit you clipped for the hose. Install overflow...

It sounds like your cap is the issue. When the engine cools it is trying to draw coolant from overflow bottle (If you have one) If you do not have one then would still be cap. As the engine cools and contracts it will create a suction and draw fluid. If not and cap is not venting for overflow...

Hey ram250098, What's the status of leak? Did you have to drop tranny or was the plug acessable from removal of starter? Please advise. Was looking at your thread this past week in horror and it started happening to my 64 about the same time!!!! :angry7:

Hey Redfish, I am noticing the same on my 64 273. The plug at the starter, is it behind starter on outside or does the tranny need to be dropped?

Update: finally got "BOF" fired up today twice and ran it up to temp with no leaks and is holding at 185!!!! Thanks Guys!!!

I got a 7lb at Advance. Be aware! They have been raising their prices lately if I shop around (autozone) they are usually 10% to 90% cheaper! ie voltage regulator dart = advance $62.00, Autozone = $22.00! Good Luck!

All 3 of my Darts all run at 185 on back roads and 200+ on highway, 273, 318, 225 is only 1 with new radiator. All bone stock. I thought this was normal?
