Looks like a decent unit I may be interested in one my self if I can find out a couple of questions I have.

Start it and pop the battery cable off if it stays running your charging fine.. I would almost bet money on a bad battery borrow one from a friend or another car and try it out batteries these days hardly last 3 years let alone five and now that its getting cold it will finish off a dieing...

That guy has a brick and motor store about 35 minutes from my house in Tennessee I am going to go pick up one next spring and try it out.

I wouldn't think that is normal as normally you would be able to put the distributor in time or 180 out and that would throw it out. If the rotor is solid on the shaft you could over come this by just moving the plug wires over to the correct places. Someone else chime in if im wrong.

So I just found out somthing nice skipwhite the guy who is sold the one in the first link has a real store about 40 minutes from my house so maybe he has more and I can cut out ebay all together.

Not wanting one for my dart was thinking about one for my 1984 pickup.

If I wanted to use one of these distributors what do I do with the wires/plug for the factory module? just tuck them away or what do I have to do with them?

Alright Cool I was wondering because it sounds like it might be a decent upgrade for my truck once I get my motor swap done because it just has the normal regular old electronic distributor and orange box setup dealing away with the resistor and getting a hotter coil sounds like it would be...

I have to ask is there any benefit of running a system like this over normal electronic with a fender mounted module and resistor?

Try using jumper cables from the hot on the battery straight to the starter and see if it turns over.
