disk swap on '74 or keep drums?

I would do disc on the front. A '74 should have a 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern, though. How does yours have a 4"?

Converting from Power to Manual Brakes

IMO, the manual brakes, especially with front discs, aren't bad. My Duster doesn't have power brakes, and I don't even notice. The Barracuda with the tiny 9" drums is a different story.

    1966 dual master cylinder

I think Ehrenberg sells dual chamber cylinders on ebay that are a direct bolt on for early a bodies. I think his ebay username is rehrenberg (not sure about the spelling). I just read Buzzkill71's thread about his brake failure, and he said he has a dual chamber cylinder, so not sure where the...

New rear end, now brake pedal sinks :(

I'd change the cylinders then. I think they were about $15 each when I got them.

New rear end, now brake pedal sinks :(

Probably just didn't get a good bleed on them. Try bleeding again. Might take a couple times. If that doesn't do it, maybe the wheel cylinders are bad. They don't cost much and should be available at a parts store.

Caliper is stuck, rebuild or buy new?

I just bought a set for my '74 duster a couple months ago. I think it was around $40 for the pair at Orielly's

    Manual brakes suck!!!

I agree. My duster has manual disc brakes, and I don't have a problem with them at all. I actually kind of prefer them over power because I get more of a feel from the feedback through them.

    Manual brakes suck!!!

Try 9" manual drums on the early a-bodies. Nerve-racking on CA freeways.

I'm pretty sure they are pressed in.

Where did you get your front disc conversion?

Aerospace Components list the kits "Starting at $635." What is the price of a SBP A body kit? Around $650 seems decent considering I'd have to drive about 60 miles to the junkyards and search though them looking for a donor, then pay probably $200-300 for the parts (So-Cal) if I were to get...

Where did you get your front disc conversion?

So as long as everything on mine is in good condition, this is a complete kit...nothing else needed?

Where did you get your front disc conversion?

Is that a complete bolt on kit, or do I still need to find UCA's? I'm staying with the SBP. Not a bad price if it's complete.
