Can I use the block drain for a temp sender?

Yeah both sides, I'm gunna give it a shot. Seem to recall I wasn't able to remove the plugs 25 years ago. Doesn't mean I won't try again. Might as well while the cooling system is empty-ish

Surprising result from 14" ebay electric fan

No relay, it pulls 7-ish amps maybe 10. The thermostat is rated for 16a at 250v ac so I should be okay I think. This is my concern as well. I would like to mount a flat plate as a shroud and have it pull across the entire rad. I just have to be less lazy than I am today. Much appreciated...

Surprising result from 14" ebay electric fan

Just got this guy installed, 14 inch Universal Slim Pull Push Racing Electric Radiator Engine 12V Cooling Fan | eBay, and am seeing a 60 degree drop across the radiator inlet(190) and outlet(130). On the radiator directly in front of the fan I'm seeing over a 100 degree drop(no shroud). My...

    Overheating 360 new engine

I'm running one of these in 14" myself. They don't tell you this but you have to reverse the blades when switching between push and pull. I can see yours are set up as a pusher. You gotta flip the blades because they don't work the way you have them mounted, and it'll push twice the air...

    Overheating 360 new engine

My fresh rebuilt engine had head gaskets missing the steam holes. Not saying it's your problem just a heads up. Caused incurable overheating similar to your experience. Now I won't replace head gaskets until I can compare them to the old ones.

    trucker fan

I'm pretty sure the fan would hit the windshield. Is the floor a good spot, maybe on the tunnel between the seats? Sitting at lights is when I cook and the factory defrost/heater/summer doors just don't cut it

    trucker fan

Just saw @318willrun do his van mileage video and saw something I'd like to try, a dash fan or trucker fan as I call them. Great video btw, you guys should check it out. Anyone got pics of where they mounted theirs and if they're effective? Thanks y'all,

Fiberglass 6 pack hood get the heat out?

Roll that money into a blower or tunnel ram and cut a hole in the hood. The way the factory always wanted to. jk That mech fan and shroud look perfectly aligned, should cool great like that.

    Radiator suggestions

That's only with the engine sitting still. Once you're doing 60mph, that 30hp draw might be a lot less. Now gas mileage, the mech fan def. hurts you there. Speaking of Roadkill, have you tried running without the hood?

If the MP viscous fan fits, it's excellent. What happens temp wise at sustained freeway speeds?

    Mech fan suggestions…..

The stock fan with a solid spacer moves a ton of air. that's what blower mfg's like Dyer's recommend

    Feedback!!! Champion Radiator

+1 for the AT cooler threads being crap. I wrapped the hell out of my nipples with teflon tape, sealing fine for now, but i wouldn't trust it for a road trip. Better plan on heli-coil or epoxy thread repair, if you can even do either of those. The threads aren't even the same diameter, but...

Does hole in my hood affect cooling? And should I get Hood to rad/hood to cowl seals?

The hole might even make the car run cooler. On old Z cars the front fenders act like a scoop and kinda pressurize the engine bay once you hit 60+ mph, then the temperature needle rises and the AC quits working well. The fix is to vent the hood or leave out the inspection doors. Course the...

Yeah I was torn between the 2,3, and 4 rows, but read some posts on a jeep/rockcrawler forum that said the 1 row outperforms everything else?? Well I dunno about that, but I got a 2 row for $170 shipped, and it doesn't sound like a rainstick when you flip it upside down from all the crap...

Thanks Mirada! Okay it's in, pix: It actually sits lower than the old radiator, it certainly isn't going to hit the hood. I had to flip the valence support bolt/nut upside down and massage the whole thing downward a bit with a sledge to get the clearance I needed. Drilled two lower holes...

Got the radiator, and it's 21 1/4" tall with cap. Looks like it should fit by drilling one hole. Best part is the upper and lower tanks are the same thickness as the rest of the rad- 3" as compared to the original goofy-thick tanks. This gives the fan another 1/2" of clearance front-to-rear...
