67 Cuda Notchback Hell Cat Swap

Hell yes X 2! I want to see some more on the Valiant also! Fantastic build, just like your notchback!

67 Cuda Notchback Hell Cat Swap

Sorry, I just saw your question; either I didn't get a notification or (more likely) I missed it. I was already doing a full frame with a roll cage, so we just made the frame rail spacing the same as that for an early Mustang so the Alumaframe system would fit. I suppose the stock front...

67 Cuda Notchback Hell Cat Swap

This is what it looked like when we were planning on using an electric P/S pump.

67 Cuda Notchback Hell Cat Swap

Here's what mine looks like with A/C and P/S.

67 Cuda Notchback Hell Cat Swap

Haha! It actually wasn't that bad, considering that it includes the aluminum crossmember, rack & pinion steering, all control arms, etc. In fact, the whole assembly was less than half the cost of those Alcon brakes!

67 Cuda Notchback Hell Cat Swap

"nothing is for an early A" That's for sure! I solved that problem by going with Detroit Speed's Alumaframe front suspension. Shhh, it's for an early Mustang.

67 Cuda Notchback Hell Cat Swap

That's pretty thick! I feel your pain; I let the mower deck go a little too long between cl eanings!

67 Cuda Notchback Hell Cat Swap

I wanted to run mine all the way to the back, but with IRS, differential cooler, dry sump tank, and battery box all taking up space, I had to go to NASCAR oval tubing just downstream of the mufflers and turn it out just ahead of the rear tires.

67 Cuda Notchback Hell Cat Swap

Big radiators and A/C condensers are even more fun in an early A!

Thanks! The wheels are Forgeline CF1.

    Supercharged 6.4L in a 64 Valiant

Looking forward to that one! I had ordered a Hellcat crate engine for my '65 Barracuda in June 2015, but after several delays, and despite the fact that I was supposedly number two on the "worldwide list", I got a refund and went in another direction, with a 433 c.i. aluminum 3rd gen hemi with...

    Supercharged 6.4L in a 64 Valiant

Wow! Disappointed for you that you didn't enjoy the finished product after all that nice work, but I'm sure the financial compensation made it worthwhile!

    Supercharged 6.4L in a 64 Valiant

Man, you are really going through it, first with the shifter and still dealing with the throttle issues! You will be able to open a 3rd gen hemi swap consulting business when you are done. I know there is some tech guru out there who can cure that throttle lag, but not this old man!

    Supercharged 6.4L in a 64 Valiant

Yeah, that's what I am going with. A little more expensive, and 11 pounds heavier, not counting the extra weight of the hinges and gas struts--but a little more convenient for solo maintenance.

    Supercharged 6.4L in a 64 Valiant

Okay, that's a division of Hot Rod Chassis and Cycle; they are building my Barracuda. The hood comes from VFN, just a few blocks down the street. Did you get the hinged or the pin-on version?

    Supercharged 6.4L in a 64 Valiant

That looks like the same one I am using on my '65 Barracuda. Is it from VFN?

    Let's be honest....

Mine is going to be a driver too, although I have gotten in a little deeper than originally planned. Oh man, that Duster restoration is beautiful! Looks like it is nearing completion too. I saw Butch's previous car run at the Gatornationals in '74, along with many of my other old favorites...

    Let's be honest....

Yeah, I figured those tall stacks would give you a good low rpm power peak. They will look awesome too! I would have gone with taller stacks, but wanted to keep a relatively low hood profile. I'm using an AAR type scoop; still need to work out a panel filter setup and seal that to the scoop...

    Let's be honest....

That does look good! What were your dyno numbers? What's it going in?
  20. 65cuda340

    Let's be honest....

    Thanks--It's getting there, but slowly.
  21. 65cuda340

    Let's be honest....

Here's my aluminum 433 3rd gen with Hilborn injection. I think it will look kinda old school in my '65 Barracuda (rendering sitting between the injectors).

    5.7 with hilborn injection

I see that this is an old thread, and mine is not installed yet, but I have the short stack Hilborn setup on a 433 cubic inch aluminum 3rd gen. I will be using a Motec controller because it works with my 6-speed sequential trans. Cam is a road racing profile designed for a broad torque curve...
