    Just measured mine with 9"drums i got 8 7/8" from back of spindle to frame, the wheels are on it i can pull them tomorrow and get a better measurement if ya need it.

    Cool ya got it figured out, I had to use the offset hangers and had my rims cut to move the back space to 47/8 to work on mine.

    Chris Just do a X measurement and make some aluminum spacers for the front hangers, And of coarse longer bolts too !!And as far as shackle angle goes 30* is the sweet spot.     Sorry i should have been clearer, I used solid aluminum front spring bushings insted of rubber.:burnout:

    Yep bigger tires are 1 benefit, but if ya add solid bushings and new springs and frame connectors its a big difference to stock! Did it on my 66 and i can run 15x8 rim with a 275 tire with no rubbing,Here's a pic with 255's on a 15x8 rim.

    The best way i found is to use a pickle fork, Bang it in so it's tight then take your BFH and wack the side of the spindle where the ball joint goes through, Usually only takes a couple hit's to free it up,Oh and spin the castle nut on a few threads.

    I don't want to high jack the thread, But yes they butt to the rear rails and over lap on the bottom and top flanges.

    Nice work !! I used 2x3 and coped them to fit the floor,I didn't want to cut the rear pans, i welded some pipe through the drivers side for the ebrake cable, It worked well for my car.

    HELP! Spring Relocation Question

    I would run a 1/2'' threaded rod from one hanger box to the other this keeps everything in line and straight then you can square both sides up,and then your tracking will be good. Don't forget to set your pinion angle when welding your spring perches. Hope this helps.
