The method i have been using for years to strip a car down is rough up the paint with a Da 80 grit then chemical strip it 1 guy can do it in a day, then we shoot it with epoxy, do all the body work, the when it's ready we use Sher Wil 21 hi build poly then get the board out for some hours!!!

Did this SS in 3 stage Planet color very lengthy paint job but great results if ya lot's of $$$$$ to burn.Shitty cell pic! then did this Camero with single stage UNO(RM) it's about 700.00 Gal, not bad for good paint.

I use the GRINDER still been using it for for 30+ years, after wet sand i use 3M white with a woolly and finish with blue and a foam pad, I don't like the DA'S not enough heat but they are great for feather edging !!

Yep scuff it well and epoxy on top if it's preped well you can do a wet on wet with the epoxy.

You can get it media blasted and it won't warp the **** out of the panel then spray epoxy on it.

Wow 1/8th'' is nothing to worry about!! your pic's look like it's 3'' lol. If ya have it that close plug weld your x members then you can massage your trany hump to fit,If everything else fits tight start welding!!!

Man I've done alot of AMD pans and they all need tweaking but i have never had one fit as bad as yours, The last one i did was done in 1 day with a little amount of fitting, And yes always start your plug welding on the cross members first. And finish at the pinch weld and seat pan.If ya can't...

Yep Sikkens is great stuff i used to spray it every day, It's hard to find around here now,Glasurit was my favorite till BASF bought them out in the 80's

The first one is Planet colour it's nice and flows well with a high price tag, The second is strait Urethane UNO by RM i love this stuff for colours with no metallic sprays nice and no water sanding and polishing needed.The 2nd was painted at home in my garage.

Yep gravity guns don't spray upside down very well, I'd use a suction gun for spraying the underside.
