    dougs header d450

I have had both in mine, the Dougs were easier to install than the tti's. I did not have to remove torsion bars or steering column to install the dougs, however, the dougs run very close to the brake prop valve. Both headers rub the steering linkage, I jacked the Dougs up before tightening the...

    Best headers?

I have an early A, which is a tough fit for any header, and I have used both Dougs and tti. Both fit when the instructions were followed, including getting the engine in the right place on the K frame, and I didn't have to hammer any dings in them. I recommend either brand.

TTI exhaust early A-body instillation ?

get ready for some fun! Pull that steering column, the t-bars, and get ready to shim the mounts! But once there in, they work awesome and look great.

    Doug's exhaust help '66 Dart

If you have some time, I am going to pull the doug's off mine and sell them because I bought tti's for the 408 engine. It might be a couple of months before I have them out, I had surgery in Feb and the doc says no lifting until mid april. They are in good shape and I will ship. They are the D450's.

    Early A-Body w/Dougs ??????

I have them on my Dart, and even with the 904 they are tight. I made the mistake of installing the headers before the trans and beat the coating up pretty bad putting the 904 in the car. It's the width that kills you on the 727.

    E body headers

I know it's off the a-body subject, but what header experiences has anyone had on a 440 e-body? I need to figure out which header has been the best bet for fit and quality. tti is a consideration, but are Doug's e body headers good? Thanks in advance!

    Dougs Headers

I used the p/n D450's in my 66 with a 904 and it gets a little tight. If the trans is a little wider like a 727 you would not be getting your trans in/out without pulling headers. I think because the ground clearance is so good, Dougs had to make them come closer together.

    headers

I have dougs on my 66 and they are great headers. Very minor problems with them and the ground clearance is good. I wish they were 1-3/4 tubes, however.

    header bolts

my header bolt heads are 7/16 so I used a 1/4" universal 7/16 socket and extension, and also a shorty wrench

    Header nitemare

can you get that stud out? Try heating it up, even with a propane torch and see if it will back out. Then toss it and put a 5/16 header bolt in instead.

    Super Comp Headers

The tti's were on display out in Vegas. They only need a powermaster starter to fit the early a chassis. However, installation requires pulling a torsion bar and is a bit difficult. Nice headers, step from 1-5/8 -1-3/4" with 3" collectors. They have anice exh. system for early a's now as well...

TTI headers for early A-bodies are coming!

Do you know what size primaries and what size collectors they will have?

    360 engine/ headers?

They are expensive and have 1-5/8 primaries and 2-1/2 collectors, but I bought a set of Dougs D-450 headers for my 66 and they are really nice.

    66 dart gt

I agree with 68gts340, there isn't anyone making headers for the big block in an early a body. But over at bigblockdart.com they have a tech section just for exhaust issues and there might be a possibility of modifying big block headers from a b-body to fit your application. It is hard enough to...

    thumbs up for TTI!

Nice system. I have heard that TTI is going to build headers for early a-body with small block. Is this true? It would be great to have another choice of underbody headers for my 66 dart.
