    273 Commando 4 Speed with Brewer Performance Replacement Clutch

    Don't know for sure but IMO the clutch would be good. However I would use the 273 cam, solid lifters, push rods and adjustable rockers, you will save $$ on those items and will not have to sweating the cam going flat.

    Bad thrust bearing?

    Remove steering linkage to drop pan, may have to lift engine a little to wiggle pan around K frame, pump out ,windage tray, then thrust cap and roll new thrust bearing in rotating engine. Remove spark plugs so it turns over easy. I have done this on my back by myself in sub freezing temperature...

    Bad thrust bearing?

    Grab onto the harmonic balancer pully and push/pull and check for movement should almost none. If your getting noticeable movement you can change the thrust bearing without removing the engine.

    Hydraulic Linkage

    IMO all this sounds to me like an grueling 9th grade science project. "Blueprint" every piece of the factory shift linkage using bronze bushings and heim joints in linkages and most important install a firewall flex brace. This gets all the slop and play out, works fine lasts long time.

    Get a bigger bell housing for a 10.5 inch clutch then your options are bigger, or get a custom made unit from a clutch specialty manufacturer.
